Based on the analysis of 525 Albanian social media users from different age groups, the findings illustrate that 90% of the respondents prefer to use a smartphone rather than a personal computer in their daily life. Except for LinkedIn and Facebook, all social media apps had higher usage rates among the younger demographic, according to data analysis. The most popular app is Facebook. Based on age-based differentiation strategies, our data support the findings. Every app can help businesses reach the Youth category (aged 14 to 24), but social networking apps and YouTube should be the main priorities. Adults in the target audience in the 25–45 age range can be found primarily on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, while people over 45 can be found primarily on Facebook. Specifically, co...

The focus of the process is to report the transactions electronically and in real-time to the tax authorities’ information systems. The intention is to reduce informality and bureaucracy, two of the key issues in doing business within the country. Considering that the new fiscalization process has a clear aim and stable requirements, the waterfall method is adopted to conduct the research. Beginning with a detailed literature analysis on similar implemented systems, and subsequently proposing a business solution followed by designing a suitable architecture. The proposed business logic solution and system architecture have as focal points mobility and interoperability. The interoperability approach enables the financial institutions’ information system to be connected to the proposed system, implying an increased potential number of merchants using it. The use of mobile technologies and the possibility to integrate...

Part of this goal is the study of computer-based systems from conference calls and intranets to more advanced ones like data warehouses, management information systems (MIS) and executive information systems (EIS), as enablers of knowledge flow and absorptive capacity. The paper examines four case studies based on semi-structured interviews, where the data collected highlight a good coverage of computer-based systems in function of knowledge sharing. In half of the cases, this is done internally in the plant and not over the network of plants. We propose to upgrade where possible the systems used in a distributed way to have data and information connections across the network. In some cases, emerge barriers such as lack of time, lack of tolerance for errors, or the need for assistance. Conclusions show t...

The present study examines different supervised machine learning methods with a focus on intrusion detection systems (IDSs) that will help in improving SMEs’ security. The algorithms that are tested through a real dataset, are Naïve Bayes, Sequential minimal optimization (SMO), C4.5 decision tree, and Random Forest. The experiments are run using the Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analyses (WEKA) 3.8.4 tools and the metrics used to evaluate the results were: accuracy, false-positive rate (FPR), and total time to train and build a classification model. The results obtained from the original dataset with 130 features show a high value of accuracy, but the computation time to build the classification model was notably high for the cases of C4.5 (1 hr. and 20 mins) and SMO algorithm (4 hrs. and 20 mins). the Information Gain (IG) method...

Albania, as a country that aspires to join the European Union, has implemented the legal framework to meet these standards. However, there is a lack of traceability in systems that will help food companies and the government fulfill these requirements. This paper shows a prototype where food authenticity is an integral part of a traceability system. The objective is to provide a combination of Quick Response (QR) coding with anti-counterfeiting technology. This is accomplished using encryption algorithms over mobile platforms. The prototype implementation in this way implies easy data access of for business operators, government authorities as well as the ultimate customer.

To shed more light on this relationship, we propose that in the context of the MNC, the plant’s role in the knowledge network has to be taken into consideration.
