Welcome

Welcome!

Welcome to the IAA! Our 60-credit academic certificate can prepare you for careers in all different sectors of agriculture and natural resources. At the IAA, you’ll find all of the benefits of a small learning community along with the many advantages of a world-class research university.

Here are just a few of the great things you’ll find at the IAA:

  • Hands-on learning guided by top-notch faculty. “Applied” isn’t just part of our name—it’s who we are! Our faculty strive every day to give students the most practical, real-world lessons possible.
  • Supportive advising in a close-knit learning community. Every IAA student is important! You’ll always be able to reach your advisor if you have questions, and you’ll have a home base in the IAA community from which to explore all of the resources that the university can offer.
  • A robust internship program. We help connect our students with lots of possibilities and options for internship experiences; you’ll get a meaningful work experience in your field and have plenty of guidance to help you reflect and learn from it. Many of our alumni and industry partners are eager to find IAA interns!
  • A wide range of career opportunities. IAA graduates pursue many exciting careers and educational programs. More than half of our graduates go on to further education; of those who enter the workforce, more than 90% already have jobs in their field by the time they graduate.

The IAA program includes nine tracks in three key concentrations: Agricultural Business Management and Leadership, Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Management, and Turfgrass and Golf Course Management. You can learn more about all nine tracks here.

Want to learn more? You can find lots of information on the Prospective Students page. You can also follow us on Facebook or Instagram, or schedule a phone call or visit. We’d love to meet you and help you reach your career goals!

Best wishes,

Heather McHale
