Pijaran adalah pancaran radiasi elektromagnetik (termasuk cahaya tampak) dari benda panas akibat kenaikan suhu.[1] Istilah tersebut (untuk bahasa Inggrisnya) berasal dari kata kerja berbahasa Latin incandescere, untuk becahaya putih.[2]
