Violist of the first Brodsky Quartet from 1885, where between 1885 and 1888 he was a colleague of Adolf Brodsky (1851–1929), Hans Becker (Hugo Becker's brother) and Julius Klengel (1859–1933). The founder members were Adolf Brodsky, Ottokar Nováček (1866–1900), Sitt and Leopold Grützmacher (1835–1900).
