Founded by B.C. Whitney and Alton Warner, Whitney-Warner was a short-lived successor firm to C.J. Whitney of Detroit (owned by B.C. Whitney's father). The new firm published popular music from about ca.1893 to 1915. It was briefly owned by Jerome H. Remick, who left it to start his own firm in 1902.
