Victor Joel Santos Ramírez
Español/English N. en Tulancingo, Hidalgo. Arqueólogo egresado de la Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENAH) y maestro en arquitectura por la Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS). Desde el 2002 es investigador del INAH en Sinaloa, donde ha coordinado y dirigido proyectos de investigación en los ámbitos de la arqueología histórica y prehispánica. Es autor de los libros: “Las misiones jesuíticas de Sinaloa, pasado y presente de los monumentos históricos (2015), “La iglesia de la villa de Sinaloa. Arqueología Histórica” (2014), “El Colegio Jesuítico de Sinaloa. Arqueología, historia y arquitectura sobre el establecimiento fundacional de las misiones del noroeste de México (1591-1770)” (2014); coordinador de los libros: “Las Labradas”, cinco años del proyecto arqueológico” (2015), “Los petroglifos del Norte de México” (2006), “Tributo a Jaime Litvak” (2008), “Trópico de Cáncer, historia y arqueología del sur de Sinaloa” (2012), y “De Las Labradas a Mazatlán. Historia y Arqueología” (2014). Desde el 2009 es director del Proyecto Arqueológico Las Labradas (PALL), logrando con los resultados de este proyecto que este sitio se convirtiera en la primera zona arqueológica con declaratoria federal en Sinaloa (2012) e ingresara a la lista indicativa de la UNESCO (2012).
Santos Ramírez has specialized in Sinaloa archaeology, missions, and rock art. He did his undergraduate studies at Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENAH). He has taught at ENAH, and at Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa. He has completed fieldwork at the following sites: Chametla, municipio de El Rosario; El Opochi, municipio de Sinaloa; El Palmar, sindicatura de El Dorado and La Estancia, Mocorito. Between 1990 and 1995, he collaborated on several research projects about the Mexico City center: “La Casa de la Primera Imprenta en América”, “El edificio de la Casa del Diezmo de Catedral y posterior Casa de la Alhóndiga”, “El convento de Santo Domingo”, “El Colegio de Niñas”, and “Teatro Colón”. He has participated in the following restauration projects: “El Convento Agustino de Santa María de los Reyes” (Huatlatlauca, Puebla), “La Capilla de la Candelaria” (San Felipe de los Alzati, Michoacán), “La iglesia de las Capuchinas” (Morelia), “Proyecto Xcaret” y el “Proyecto Calica” (Quintana Roo). Between 2002 and 2005, he directed the project “El Colegio Jesuita de Sinaloa” at Sinaloa de Leyva. Currently he directs the following two projects: “La ruta de las misiones de Sinaloa” and “Proyecto arqueológico Las Labradas”. He is co-founder of the journal “Actualidades Arqueológicas” at UNAM. In 2001, he organized the XXVI Mesa Redonda de Antropología de la Sociedad Mexicana de Antropología. He’s the organizer of the Román Piña Chan Simposium held yearly at the National Museum of Anthropology.
