The obtained results show that the proposed antenna can achieve approximately 12.0 dBi of gain at 9 GHz and has acceptable return loss from 8 to 10 GHz. Furthermore, the radiation patterns and insertion loss of the antenna have been presented and discussed.

This particular dual slot configuration allows tuning of two resonant frequencies, where simulated results obtained using an in-house FDTD computer program agreed well with measured results. The investigation is done via numerical simulation using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The results compared well with those based on commercial software. One dual-band configuration provided a reasonable 10 dB bandwidth of 25% at 5.8 GHz and 10% at 2.45 GHz. The effect of different design parameters on the resonant frequencies and bandwidth is then discussed.
