    This research was carried out to identify the internal and external actors and factors that shaped Afghanistan’s National Strategy for Combating Corruption (NSCC), assess implementation of NSCC to date, identify issues for consideration in future anticorruption policy making, and make recommendations on closing the gap between NSCC objectives and outcomes. The report concludes that while a number of tangible accomplishments have been made, much remains to be done in tackling corruption in Afghanistan, requiring a strategy with a considerably longer time span of NSCC’s two years and allocation of earmarked technical, human, and financial resources

    This research was undertaken to examine the opportunities for combatting corruption through private sector driven initiatives to adopt corporate social responsibility as a business model with multiple benefits for businesses, community and the government. The research finds that, while a number of formal preconditions for widespread adoption of CSR are not present in Afghanistan, efforts can and should be made to link such notions and practices as benevolence, serving the community, and honesty to most of the provisions in the CSR business model.
