The study adopted the descriptive survey research design. The population consisted of athletes who have represented Obafemi Awolowo University in national competitions. The sample size comprised 300 athletes selected across the 15 accredited sports in the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA). 20 athletes were selected from each sport using simple random sampling techniques. Athletes were selected on the field of play. A self-designed research instrument titled “Depression and Emotional Stability Questionnaire” (DESQ) was used to collect data from athletes. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics of percentages, mean and standard deviation and regression at 0.05 level of significant. The result indicated that there exists a strong effect of depression on athletes’ countenance (F=55.688

Experimental research design was adopted for the study. The Physical Self-Perception Profile (PSPP, Fox & Corbin, 1989) was administered on 160 participants who took part in an eight week structured exercise intervention using the pre-post- test method. The mean and standard deviation of the pre and post treatment PSPP score of male and female participants in basketball, badminton and control were revealed (A= 96.50 ± 12.7; A = 80.58 ± 17.49; A = 73.83 ± 17.84) and (A=100.68 ± 8.94; A = 95.71 ± 7.15; A = 73.74 ± 17.89), respectively. A Two Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to test for difference among means the result revealed significant effect in the pre and post treatment sport groups (<0.05). To determine the location of the significant effect, a post hoc analysis was carried out (<0.05). The study concluded that bas...

Populations for the study consist of all ballgame participants while the purposive sampling technique was used to select 100 participants (Basketball 25; Football 25; Handball 25; and Volleyball 25). Satisfaction with life was measured using the scale of Diener, Emmons, Larsen and Griffin (1985) in which participants answered five statements about how satisfied with life they are on a five-point scale. The result indicated that there was a significant influence of involvement in sport on satisfaction with life (F (2, 97) =48.143, p<0.05) of ball game participants. Percentage and the One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to analysis the data.
