The oscillator is a form of frequency generators which can be generate a sinusoidal wave with con... more The oscillator is a form of frequency generators which can be generate a sinusoidal wave with constant frequency and amplitude. The frequency oscillator can be considered as a one of basic circuits, which must be existing in most electrical, electronic, communication circuits and systems. In this paper, a proposed design of sine wave oscillator type RC phase shift has been performed using three approaches. The first approach proposed design is done theoretically using the basic theorems used to generate oscillations, such as the condition of oscillation criteria. Secondly it is done using simulation technique (multisim11). Thirdly the simulated design is implemented practically using single operational amplifier with passive elements such as resistors & capacitors. All the obtained results from the above three approaches (3.800 kHz, 3.510 kHz & 3.600 kHz respectively) are seems to be equal approximately. These obtained results from the designed oscillator were very encouraging.

Permanentmagnet dc motors (PMDCM) are extensively used in several applications like, various medi... more Permanentmagnet dc motors (PMDCM) are extensively used in several applications like, various medical applications, technologies for space applications, computers, robotics, military field, electric automobiles, etc. In this article, MATLAB software is used for designing and modelling of the PMDCM. Output derivative controller is proposed for controlling the motor speed because of its improving capability of system damping. For enhancing the performance of the proposed controller, its parameters are optimized based genetic algorithm (GA) and direct search (DS) strategies. Different performance criteria are used in controller tuning process. The obtained results from the proposed evolutionary strategies are compared. The work results show clear enhancement in the controller performance by improving the PMDCM transient and steadystate performance for all used performance indices.

The elements are formed of patches of variable size. The comparison focuses on effect of the elements shapes and boundaries on the performance of reflection phase represented by; range, slope and magnitude. Variation of the responses with frequency is also investigated to examine the frequency response of the proposed elements. Three shapes in the form of double-rings inspired by the Koch fractal are investigated. The elements are of single layer configuration printed on composite substrate of FR4 and foam. The bandwidths of the elements were estimated from the phase responses. The analyses were performed using the CST Microwave Studio software package. Experimental validations are given using measurements by vector network analyzer VNA, and employing the X-band waveguide simulator. The elements showed improved bandwidth.

They have three parameters to be adjusted (tuned) for proper operation. The frequency response or the root locus plots are traditionally used to tune the compensator in a lengthy procedure. In this paper Bacterial Foraging Optimization (BFO) technique is presented for tuning Lead-compensator for speed control of Separately Excited DC Motor (SEDM). The proposed method is based on the optimization of a suitable objective function, optimal values for compensator parameters including lead-compensator pole and zero location as well as compensator gain. Mathematical model of proposal work is simulated using MATLAB SIMULINK toolbox. Different loads are applied to the SEDM ranging from no-load to full-load. The obtained results from the proposed method demonstrate successfully that performance of the motor has been improved for different loads. The proposed work is robust for different loading conditions.
