L'enquête propose l'identification du flumen Vadara (chez Corippus) avec le cours d'eau appelé ... more L'enquête propose l'identification du flumen Vadara (chez Corippus) avec le cours d'eau appelé au Moyen Age ( et aujourd'hui encore) "l'oued Wadran" (un cours d'eau pérenne qui coule en Tunisie centrale actuelle). La vallée de ce cours d'eau était occupée à l'époque byzantine par les tribaux maures appelées Silzactae et Caunes (chez Corippus): qu'on situait hypothétiquement -jusqu'ici- en Tripolitaine (Y. Modéran)

La dedicace fin IIe s est faite par un affranchi imperial, procurateur d’un domaine imperial. L’inscription d’Henchir el-Ghouiba mentionne un conductor Artorius du domaine de Mercuriana et peut-etre d’une aultre villa (l’inscription est lacunaire). Identification de grands domaines (prives et imperiaux) en Byzacene remontant aux rois numides
Les sources des epoques medievale et moderne montrent que: 1° Kalaat Senane/ Bulla Mensa a tres s... more Les sources des epoques medievale et moderne montrent que: 1° Kalaat Senane/ Bulla Mensa a tres souvent servi de refuge privilegie a nombre de chefs militaires et de souverains vaincus ou en situation de peril extreme. 2° La plaine de Bou Ghanem qui s'etend au pied de Kalaat Senane, appelee a l'epoque plaine de Mermagenna a toujours joue le role de champ de bataille classique en raison de sa valeur strategique et de la proximite de la forteresse-refuge dire actuellement Table de Jugurtha. C'est ce meme role que l'historien byzantin Procope a evoque, a deux reprises, au sujet de Boulles pedion (plaine de Bulla). 3° Entre le VII e et le XI e siecles, Kalaat Senane a ete appelee successivement: Kalaat Mejjana, Kalaat Mermagenna, Kalaat Bushr et Kalaat al-Sikka.
