For many students and teachers the Covid-19 pandemic was a transformative learning experience. They were forced to cope with many changes at different levels of life: personal, professional, social. For many, the soft skills such as critical thinking, emotional intelligence, time management, being present, being empathetic or self-regulation were the main resource for effective adaptation. This is the reason why we need to adopt a new education vision, focused on developing soft skills for teachers and students, and finally for society. The aim of the present research was to analyse the respondents' perception of the soft skills which help them cope with the Covid-19 pandemic period. A questionnaire regarding teachers’ skills was used. The research sample consists of 359 respondents. An important conclusion of the study was that the respondents’ resilience was determined by the change in the perspective on the problems that arose during the pandemic.

This study contributes to determining the relationship between the human values by which today's parents are guided and the level of parental competence demonstrated by them. At the same time, the link between the number of children of the parent and the empathy shown by him, respectively the ability to ensure an effective education, is analyzed. The human values measured in the study are hedonism, self-guidance and goodwill. In total, the answers collected from 610 respondents who fulfill the status of parents (87% of the female gender and 13% of the male gender) with ages from under 20 years (1%) to over 50 years (19%) were analyzed. The results indicate that as parents manage to find a balance between their own pleasures and the satisfaction of the children's needs, the level of parental competence increases as a result of the well-being felt by the parent (r = 0.19, p < .001). Parents who manage to approach everyday problems creatively, creativity being a central elem...

This study contributes to determining the relationship between parental emotional regulation, optimism, and parenting style. The responses collected from respondents with parental status were used in the research. The majority of respondents were female; in terms of the age of participants, they were predominantly in the category of 31–40 years, followed by those in the category 41–50 years. The data were analyzed statistically through operations such as correlations, regression, and analysis of variance. The results indicate that the authoritative parenting style is associated with the emotional regulation of parents (r = 0.25, p < 0.001), but also with their level of optimism (r = 0.29, p < 0.001). It has been demonstrated both through correlations and through confirmatory factor analysis that optimism and emotional regulation are two factors that contribute to the adoption of the authoritative parenting style. The analysis of variance indicated that the emotional regulation...

The present paper’s topic is the children’s socialization, searching for ways to improve children's relationships in formal environments. The investigation started from the premise that the optimization of children’s socialization in the kindergarten environment could be achieved through the use of the artistic and plastic language, the free drawing being the basis for the transmission and reception of messages. Our sample consisted of 50 pre-schoolers coming from different kindergartens. This ascertaining research was based on, among other methods, the sociometric test and the analysis of activity products (26 items with multiple indicators). The obtained results confirmed the hypothesis, concluding that the use of artistic and plastic language in encoding and decoding messages optimizes the socialization among children in the kindergarten environment.

According to Bar-On and Parker (2011) emotional intelligence is a set of skills that positively influences a person's ability to adapt to environmental requirements. Parental competence is also defined as a function specific to parents, while also representing the style in which they fulfill their parental responsibilities. (Johnson et al., 2014) The main purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between parents' emotional intelligence and parental competence. The results obtained showed that parental competence does not depend entirely on the level of emotional intelligence of the parent. Following the distribution between the level of parental competence and the level of emotional intelligence, it was demonstrated that those parents who recorded a high score of parental competence (80-100 points), did not obtain the highest values of parental competence. Through the distribution of the values of the emotional intelligence coefficient according to gender, th...

The challenges of the 21st century impose on today's parent the need to take part in a new type of education, namely, parental education. This type of education takes into account the discipline of the parent, by providing relevant information on: the characteristics of children according to their age, parental typologies with the advantages and disadvantages of each, parenting strategies that ensure streamlining the parent-child relationship, as well as the obstacles encountered in the process of raising and educating the child. The multitude of information stated above, arouses the interest for training parents in the field of parenting, but also the need to implement training programs with a central theme, parental education. Following the application of a focus group interview, which was attended by eight parents whose children are part of primary school, it was found that they are aware of the shortcomings they have, but also of the mistakes they make as parents, concluding...

The changes in digitalized society are reflected in the family and school environment. Nowadays children are characterized as “Homo zappiens” (Veen & Vrakking, 2011) or “digi” generation (Gold, 2016) because they are growing up using modern technology (mobile phone, computer, iPod etc.) since early childhood. The use of new communication technologies by children induced major changes in play, learning and parenting. They learn and play in a global and digital culture. This could lead to huge discrepancies between generations, especially between parents and children, children and educators. This is because homo zappiens are digital, whereas parents are analogous sometimes. If we add to these characteristics of society the values that dominate postmodernism (hedonism, individualism etc.) we will have a clearer picture of the challenges of education today and especially, in parenting. We need to redefine the children-parents-educators relationship through a new set of criteria. Wellbei...

This article addresses the topic of conditional parenting, and it focuses on analyzing the relationship between parenting and the school activity of the student at the level of primary education. Conditional parenting, which provides the child with conditional love and self-esteem, it stands out by: focusing on the child's behavior, considering that human nature is negative and parental love is a privilege that must be earned, also being the adept of punishments and rewards. Conditional love entails the parent's desire to have an obedient child, obedience being the basis of control. `How could an obedient and conditional loved child develop competencies for the future? How well will he meets the demands of today's school or how will he relate to the faculty? These are the questions that have guided the approach of the whole mixed type research, that has been carried out over a period of half a year, using the following methods: questionnaire based survey and focus group ...

This study investigates how 21st century parents show openness and flexibility for new parenting strategies. The central theme of the study refers to the positive parenting according to which the active listening of the child, the adaptation of the parent to his needs, the active involvement of the parent in the child's life, and the expression of the parent's attachment to his child become essential for a quality parent-child relationship. Positive parenting does not exclude disciplining the child and setting limits. The results of the study demonstrate the availability of parents for this type of parenting, but also for an improvement in the field.

Objectives. Perfectionism and intolerance of uncertainty are two characteristics that can
impede a child's ability to develop normally and become a successful adult. The objective of
this study was to determine the relationship between perfectionism and intolerance of
uncertainty as well as the effects of parental support on these traits.
Material and methods. This study was conducted on a sample of 247 respondents, of whom
226 (91%) were female, 20 (8%) were male, and one respondent did not state gender. The
method used was an indirect survey, and the research instrument used was a questionnaire
through which the three research variables were measured. Results were processed using
statistical operations such as correlations, regressions, and ANOVA analysis of variance.
Results. As the level of parental support decreases, the level of uncertainty intolerance
increases (r = - 0.18, p = 0.006, p < 0.05). A significant effect of the respondent's age on the
level of intolerance uncertainty was established (F = 2.96, p = 0.01, p < 0.05). The
predominant groups of respondents from the perspective of age are those under 20 years old,
with many 30 respondents with an average uncertainty intolerance of 35.08, the group is made
up of respondents aged between 21 and 25 years old in a number of 69 respondents with an
average of 35.41 tolerance to uncertainty, respectively groups aged between 41 and 45 years
and over 45 years, in the number of 31 and 44 respondents whose average tolerance to
uncertainty is 30.13 in the case of respondents aged between 41 and 45 years and 29.84 in the
case of respondents over 45 years old. As the level of parental recognition of feelings
decreased, the level of uncertainty intolerance increased (r = - 0.23, p < .001). 5% of the
variability of uncertainty intolerance is influenced by the recognition of feelings by parents
(R2 = 0.05). The performance induced by the parents is not associated with the level of
perfectionism of the respondents (r = - 0.09, p = 0.13, p > 0.05). The increased level of
intolerance of uncertainty was associated with the increased level of perfectionism (r = 0.35, p
< .001). 12% of the variability of perfectionism was influenced by intolerance of uncertainty
(R2 = 0.12).
Conclusions. This study demonstrates the importance of parental support for reducing
intolerance to uncertainty and, at the same time, for reducing the level of maladaptive
perfectionism, according to which the young adult is constantly worried about aspects of life
that cannot always be controlled
