También presenta reflexiones sobre enfoques contemporáneos del tema, así como los últimos documentos de expertos de la ONU.
This article brings the transcription and revision of the roundtable discussion held at the III L... more This article brings the transcription and revision of the roundtable discussion held at the III Latin American Congress of Political Ecology, which aimed to debate different experiences of collective struggles against projects of extraction of natural resource, with the participation of indigenous leaders, traditional communities and activist intellectuals. The narratives shares experiences in processes in which there was collective resistance to extractive-colonial projects and the right to say “no” was put into practice. In general, the presentations discussed the right to say no that emerges beyond the right to consultation, and that has as its assumption the guarantee of collective autonomy over life territories.

En la Amazonía brasilera se encuentran la mayor cantidad de pueblos en situación de aislamiento y... more En la Amazonía brasilera se encuentran la mayor cantidad de pueblos en situación de aislamiento y un número importante de comunidades de contacto reciente o esporádico con la sociedad nacional. Este documento actualiza la información disponible sobre estos pueblos y propone una serie de medidas urgentes para su protección.
A lo largo del texto se presentan las metodologías de trabajo, los marcos jurídicos y las políticas públicas de Brasil a lo largo de los 22 años de trabajo con pueblos en aislamiento. La construcción de esta política estatal hace que Brasil tenga una experiencia singular con estos pueblos.

Y trata de explorar las posibilidades de interconexión con el "pluralismo jurídico" y los "derechos de la naturaleza" insertado en las nuevas constituciones de Bolivia y Ecuador, con las teorías que buscan alternativas para superar los modos de dominación y explotación colonialista y de modernización que ha acompañado la ola de desarrollo vivido en América del Sur en esta primera década de siglo XXI.

El primero producido por Land is Life y el segundo por el GTI PIACI 3. Durante la elaboración de estos dos informes estuvimos sistematizando información, que daba cuenta de la existencia de registros de Pueblos Indígenas en Situación de Aislamiento (en delante PIA) en Áreas Naturales Protegidas (en delante ANP) 4 (o Unidades de Conservación-UNC, como se las llama en Brasil) en los siete países de América del Sur 5. En un inicio, un conjunto de tablas, construidas con la participación de especialistas 6 en protección PIACI de estos siete países, reveló un universo de 61 ANP 7
