Thus, this study was conducted to assess the utilisation of youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services and associated factors among high school students in Yirgalem town, Ethiopia. Method: A facility-based cross-sectional study was conducted among randomly selected 254 youths. A structured, pretested, and selfadministered questionnaire was used to collect data. Epi data 3.1 and SPSS version 22 were used for data entry and analyses, respectively. Bivariable and multivariable logistic regression analysis was done. Adjusted odds ratio with a 95% confidence interval was used to determine the association among independent and outcome variables. A p value of ≤ 0.05 was used to declare statistical significance. Results: The magnitude of youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health service utilisation was 30.6% [95% Confidence Interval (CI): 25.2, 35.9]. Age (20-24 years) and discussing reproductive health issues with parents and with peers were predictors positively associated with utilisation of youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services. Conclusion: The magnitude of youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health service utilisation was low in the study area. The age of the respondents and discussing reproductive health issues with parents and peers are predictors positively associated with the outcome variable. Thus, devising evidence-based interventions and encouraging youth to communicate about sexual and reproductive health issues with their families and peers is important to improve utilisation of the youthfriendly sexual and reproductive health services.

Hence, this study aimed to assess the prevalence of undernutrition and its associated factors among lactating women in Shebedino district, Sidama Regional State, Ethiopia. Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted among randomly selected 612 lactating women from February to March 2020. Data were collected by using an interviewer-administered, structured, and pretested questionnaire. Also, physical measurements (weight, height, and body mass index) were measured by using standardized and calibrated instruments. Data entered into Epi data version 3.1 and exported to SPSS version 23 for further analysis. Descriptive statistics, bivariable, and multivariable logistic regression analysis were done. A P-value of ≤.05 was used to consider the statistical significance. Result: The prevalence of undernutrition was 25.9% (9...

Thus, this study aimed to assess the factors influencing the utilization of early postnatal care services among postpartum women in Yirgalem town, Sidama Regional State, Ethiopia. Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was done using structured and interviewer-administered questionnaires among randomly selected 306 postpartum women. Data were cleaned, coded, and entered into EpiData-3.1, and exported to Statistical Package for Social Science-21 for analysis. Descriptive statistics, bivariable, and multivariable logistic regression analysis were done. A p-value ⩽ 0.05 was used to consider statistically significant variables. Results: Generally, 202 (66.7%) visited a health facility for postpartum care. The prevalence of early postnatal care service utilization was 45.5% (95% confidence interval = 39.9–50.5). Mainly practiced services were physical examination (37%) a...

Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted from March 12 to 26, 2020 among randomly selected 298 women. Data were collected using an interviewer-administered, structured, and pretested questionnaire. EpiData version 3.1 and SPSS version 20 were used to enter and analyze the data, respectively. Descriptive statistics, bivariable, and multivariable logistic regression analysis were done. Adjusted odds ratio with 95% confidence interval (CI) was used to measure the presence and strength of association between the independent and the outcome variables. A P-value ≤.05 was consi...

This study was conducted to determine the determinants of neonatal mortality among newborns admitted in the neonatal intensive care unit at Dilla University Referral Hospital in Gedeo Zone, Southern Ethiopia. Methods An unmatched case-control study was conducted from February, 24 to March 6, 2020 at Dilla University Referral Hospital in Gedeo Zone Southern Ethiopia. A total of 304 neonates (76 cases and 228 controls) were involved. Neonates registered as died were considered as cases and neonates registered as improved were considered as controls. Data were extracted by pretested checklists from medical records of neonates admitted during the last one year period. Data was entered into EpiData3.1, and analyzed by statistical package for social science software Version 22.Bivariate and multivariate logistic regressions were used to identify determinants associated with neon...
