Burada Osmanlı türbe mimarisinin hemen her tipine rastlanmak mümkündür. Anadolu Selçukluları’nda rastlanmayan ve ikin-ci Beylikler (Tevâif-i mülûk) devrinden itibaren karşımıza çıkan çardak biçimli açık türbe uygulaması İznik’te Sarı Saltık (1298?)

However, this is beyond the scope of this article. It is necessary to point out that art does not solely consist of creating pictures and statues. Art includes discovering details, understanding and portraying profound feelings, and sharing these feelings. Art is the universal language of emotion; images and musical notes only comprise the alphabet of this language. In order to get to the root of the matter, the attitude of the monotheistic religions which came before Islam toward art, as reflected in the sacred books, should be examined. There are no clear statements in the pre-Islamic holy books or in the Qur'an and hadiths (sayings of the Prophet) that clearly define art. The term " esthetic " is a new concept and in the holy texts " beauty " usually means goodness. While the information found in the holy books is more moral advice, it also gives information about the fundamental qualities of art. Since the creation of a visual work of art is commonly equated with the creation of a picture or statue, when art in Islam is mentioned, the focus is on the prohibition of pictures and the debates on the legitimacy of this matter. However, the situation is much the same for music and even literature. It is necessary to point out that art does not solely consist of creating pictures and statues. Art includes discovering details, understanding and portraying profound feelings, andsharing these feelings An examination of the holy books shows that the greatest amount of information on issues related to art is found in the Old Testament. The Old Testament describes how Allah revealed to Moses the specifications of a dwelling place (tabernacle) where He could be worshipped. The details of this dwelling place including the materials, the quality of the materials, and the technique and even the measurements, shape, and the colors to be used are described. The description is so detailed that not much is left to individual choice: • " And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I show thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it " (Exodus 25:8-9). • " Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubim of cunning work shalt thou make them " (Exodus 26:1). The Old Testament states that, " Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them " (Exodus 20:4-5). Thus, the limits of art were defined, and the prohibition on the creation of images is found in the second of the Ten Commandments given to Moses.

Abstract In this paper the forgotten tomb of Haidar Mirza the son of Hamza Mirza who was left by his uncle Shah Abbas to Ottoman capital as peace hostage is discussed through the documents found in Ottoman Archives. Haidar Mirza, after arriving Istanbul in 14 October 1589 as a child being sent as a peace hostage by his uncle Shah Abbas had settled in Pertev Pasha’s residence in Vefa. His circumcision ceremony was held in Sokollu Mehmed Pasha Palace in Kadırga Port and spending his young hood in Istanbul died in 21 December 1595 after suffering from plague and was buried next to Shah Khatun Tomb in Eyup where later a tomb was built by the order of Sultan Mehmet III. As was erected just next to Shah Khatun’s Tomb, the sides of this second tomb run parallel to the walls of mentioned tomb bearing a central dome suggested by two pillars and four columns on a hexagonal plan. At the whole structure a unique look amongst the similar building. Four years after the death of Haidar Mirza (23 December 1599) his father Hamza Mirza came to visit his sons tomb with a crowded committee and at a later date probably as a nationalist behavior the grave of Haidar Mirza was opened and his relics were taken to Erbil to be buried in his new tomb. The people finding the tomb empty further destroyed the tombstone and scratched of the records on the stones of other buried people leaving them all illegible and caused these buried to be forgotten until our research. In addition, in the official documents and contemporary researches, these tombs have been referred as “Unknown tomb” or “Tomb of Mehmed Çelebi” Our aim is to explore the secrets of these tomb and to put a fresh light on the matter whit it’s either features.

Reflections of Timurid Ornamentation Style On Ottoman Art: The Origin of The Rumi/Eslimi... more Abstract Reflections of Timurid Ornamentation Style On Ottoman Art: The Origin of The Rumi/Eslimi and Khatai Motif and The Formation of The Istanbul Style
As a result of Timur's policy of establishing world domination, he brought the scholars and artists of the societies he fought to Samarkand, and the Timurids (Gūrkāniyān) made a name for themselves among the important representatives of the artistic style and especially the decorative arts in Turkestan. The interaction between the Ottoman Empire and the Timurid State was an important motivation for the development of Turkish decorative arts. In the studies carried out so far, the ornamentation styles of Timurid art have been examined mostly through manuscripts preserved in Turkish museums and libraries. The architectural decorations and tile decorations of the period are discussed mostly in terms of their material and technical characteristics. The academic language of research on the subject has surrendered to Western-origin terms and epithets, ignoring the linguistic heritage of a geography like Turkestan, which has been the cradle of these arts. In this study, tiles, one of the common elements of the Timurid period architectural decoration, are discussed in terms of the motifs, arrangements and styles that make up the decorations, rather than their material and technical characteristics. For this purpose, the structures of Shah-i Zinda, which are considered the main source, were compared with some examples selected from the early period architecture of the Ottoman Empire. As a result of our study, which also included the origin research of some motifs, a common terminology evaluation was made, new terms were identified, and attention was drawn to the common heritage between the two contemporary states, with a comprehensive approach inspired by Turkestan and Anatolia. Floral vegetable embroidery, which was not seen in the Seljuk period but was seen in the early Ottoman architectural decorations, has similar qualities to the architectural decorations of the Timurid period; The first examples of hatayi style ornamentation in Anatolia, which consists of all elements such as leaves, buds and flowers moving on a line, date back to the 14th century. Its similarity with the 16th century Timurid decorative art; The limiting patterns of ornamentation beds (tanab), which we mostly encounter in early period architectural decorations in Ottoman art and are still frequently used in Uzbekistan today, are obvious indicators of interaction. In the continuation of this interaction, which we think is two-way. As a result of some artists or their students who established the artistic bond between Turkestan and Anatolia, coming to Istanbul after the conquest of Istanbul, vegetable motifs and styles developed and reached perfection in the palace ornamentation studio. In this study, by looking at the change observed on the samples, because even today, the artisans in Turkestan remain ignorant of the style that developed in the Ottoman court based on the Timurid period. The prophetic decoration style, which is believed to have originated from Khitai, reached its peak in Istanbul and took on the taste and colour of Istanbul. They remained indifferent to the style that developed in the Ottoman palace, based on the Timur period. The vegetal decoration style, which is believed to have originated in Khitai, reached its peak in Istanbul and took on the taste and colour of Istanbul. Local artisans, too, often emulated central artistic style, even if they produced their own unique works. Today, there has been a disintegration in our traditional arts, as there is no higher organization to provide central control. Instead of developing a common style, individual works or group works around some masters are presented as traditional. Most of the time, these groups or individuals have lost their traditional way under the influence of modern approaches. In this article, the question of where the traditional arts stuck in the modern age clamp is going to be questioned, the current state of modern desire and enthusiasm and the traditional approaches of the artists will be discussed.

Thereupon, on 18 August 2020, we conducted onsite inspections with the Head of the National Palaces Restoration Department and some restoration workers. According to our opinion, during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, the simurg-dragon encounter, which was painted by Shah Kulu, the head of the palace’s workshop, was covered after the construction of Revan Mansion. The paintings, which remained under plaster after the vaulting of the inn between the Revan Mansion and the Privy Room, were unearthed during the restoration work. We can say that these depictions, which we think were painted by Shah Kulu, one of the palace miniaturists of the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, are an astonishing example of the dual-element symbols of power that we have seen in very different manifestations throughout the ages. While the double towered portal with a musenna epitaph, located at one end of the palace facing the land, represents the domination of the world; we can say that the dragon and simurg depictions in the Privy Room portico at the other end facing the sea represent fertility and envelopment that connects to the Far East by being associated with the elements of sky and earth-water. In this paper, we will try to share our thoughts on the subject in detail, based on the report we prepared on the dragon- simurg encounter figures on the plaster.

Bazı yörelerin halk ağızında ve sanat tarihi dilinde yağmur oluklarına “çörten” adı verilmiştir.

SHAH ABBAS SHAH OF IRAN, IN EYUP CEMETERY.
Abstract
In this paper the forgotten tomb of Haidar Mirza the son of Hamza Mirza who was left by his uncle Shah Abbas to Ottoman capital as peace hostage is discussed through the documents found in Ottoman Archives.

Reflections of Timurid Ornamentation Style On Ottoman Art: The Origin of The Rumi/Eslimi and Khatai Motif and The Formation of The Istanbul Style

THE TOMB OF HAIDAR MIRZA THE SON OF HAMZA MIRZA, THE BROTHER OF
SHAH ABBAS SHAH OF IRAN, IN EYUP CEMETERY.
Abstract
In this paper the forgotten tomb of Haidar Mirza the son of Hamza Mirza who was left by his uncle Shah Abbas to Ottoman capital as peace hostage is discussed through the documents found in Ottoman Archives.

Fruit Motifs in Iznik Tiles in XVI. Century:
Fruit motifs in architectural decoration has been appeared from Umayyad period In the Islamic civilization. Islam discourages representative arts, therefore Islamic artists turned to make the pictures of the nature. Within this frame fruit motifs in Iznik tiles began to appear as a spring leaves in XVI. century and continued to be used in tile plate for many years. In the last quarter of XVI. century spring leaves turned into fruits. The fruits used in Iznik tiles are grape, orange and pomegranate. The variety of flowers can not be seen in fruits. After the first quarter of XVII. century, fruit motifs in architectural decoration used mostly in public fountains, grave stones and wall painting.

The book introduces approximately 2200 Turkish, Persian and Arab calligraphers and gives their death with different impressions that changes according to their temperament, fame, and the way or date of death. Sometimes the date of death is explained by enumeration in these expressions; and the use of the words “he/she died” is carefully avoided. Throughout the article, we examined the reasons and the motives behind these expressions with selected examples.
Ḥiyal al-rūḥānīyah wa-al-asrār al-ṭabī‘īyah fī daqā’iq al-askhal al-handasīyah in
order to proof that this manuscript is merely a copy of The work of Abu al-Wafa’
Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Buzjani (940-998) with a slightly different title:
Kitab fima yahtaj ilayh al-sani’ mina al-a’mal al-handasiyah (The book about what
the craftsman needs of geometrical constructions). So it seems that this is a work by
al-Farabi, and whatever the exact authorship we found out that it merits further study.
The treatise of al-Farabi contains the foreword and 10 books (maqalat). All 10 books
are included as a whole into Abu al-Wafâ’s treatise: The first book (makala)
coincides with the second half of the II chapter of Abu al-Wafâ from 9 proposition to
the end, the II-IX books entirely coincide with III-X chapters of Abu al-Wafâ, The X
book coincides with the first half of the XI chapter of Abu al-Wafâ. So we find that it
resembles the work of Abu al-Wafa’ al-Buzjani and we tryed to proof our vue with
some proofs.
principles. This article, in addition, aims to flash on different analyses on unit cells that have hexagonal and square fictions, which applied in classical Ottoman artworks. In this article, it is presented that the geometric pattern applications, which have rich diversity in also artworks of Ottoman classical period, applied where and in which compositions. It is worked out, by comparing to pre-Ottoman period, how the pattern applications codified. It is included analyses of some interesting patterns, which were composed with reference to the unit cells, through Şehzade, Süleymaniye and Selimiye Mosques.
Sanat, Allah’ın yarattığı şeyler üzerine Onun cemal sıfatının yansıması yani Mutlak Güzel’in ve güzelliğin dışavurumudur.
