    Turkish Abstract: Konusunu tarihten alan anlatilar, tarihin her doneminde ilgiyle anlatilmis ve okunmustur. Romanin ortaya cikmasiyla bu ilgi azalmamis, tarihi roman-sinirlari tam olarak cizilemese de- cok okunan roman turlerinden biri olmustur. Gulten Dayioglu, ozellikle cocuk ve genclere donuk olarak kaleme aldigi hikâye ve romanlarla taninan, eserleri cesitli dillere cevrilen ve bircok odul alan bir yazardir. Gulten Dayioglu, “Tuna’dan Ucan Kus”ta Balkanlar’dan on uc yasinda ailesinin yanindan alinan, basindan gecen sira disi olaylardan sonra Osmanli Sarayi’na gelen, sadrazamlik makamina kadar yukselen, daha sonra izini kaybettirerek inzivaya cekilen bir devsirmenin hayatini anlatmaktadir. Bu calismada, once tarihi roman ve “Devsirme Sistemi” hakkinda bilgi verilecek, daha sonra romanda yazarin ozellikle “Devsirme Sistemi”ne bakisi ve bu bakisi ortaya koyusu incelenecektir.English Abstract: Narratives on historical subjects have always been both reported and red with great interest. Despite the fact that the emergence of novel has not attenuated this interest, historical novel has become one of most commonly read novel type as well, though the borders historical novel has yet to be well-established. Gulten Dayioglu, who is recognized with stories and novels for children and youth, is a successful writer with several awards and numerous literary works which have been translated into different languages. Gulten Dayioglu, tells – in “Tuna’dan Ucan Kus” the story of recruitment that begins with separation from family at Balkans at thirteen years old and continues with ascending to grand vizier position after entering Ottoman Palace with extraordinary events and ends up with cloistering. Little information on historical novel and Recruitment System in Ottoman Empire would be revealed, and then the view of writer on “recruitment system” and the way of her expressing this view would be explicated with this report.
