The most abundant of the families was Thomisidae with 101 individuals belonging to three species. Altogether we document four new species for the Albanian spider fauna, including one species respectively for the families of Nemesiidae, Dysderidae, Thomisidae and Salticidae. Data on the habitat preferences of the new-established species and their zoogeographical distribution are also presented. A rural habitat with Olea europaea is well represented with 109 individuals. Balkan endemics (21.1%) and Mediterranean species (31.6%) emphasize the local character of this fauna.

Most of the material was collected from the coastal city of Vlora in c. 1887 by the German naturalist Eberhard von Oertzen (1856–1909). This makes it one of the oldest arachnological collections from Albania. Biographical notes on von Oertzen are also included. Most of the MfN species have previously been recorded for Albania, but we provide here a new record of Sitticus rupicola (C. L. Koch, 1837) as well as locality data and collection numbers for all MfN voucher specimens. Of particular interest is the re-identification of two spiders as Dysdera corfuensis Deeleman-Reinhold, 1988; including the first record of the female from Albania. The bat tick Ixodes vespertilionis C. L. Koch, 1844 is labelled as Albanian, and would be a new record for the country but the locality is more likely to be in modern-day Serbia.

This paper presents a neoichnological study based on a group of G. campestris that lives in and around a pasture glade in Dajti Mountain, east of the Tirana District in Albania. It includes direct observations of the burrows in the field and their casts made by means of white Portland cement. Burrows of nymphs of G. campestris were observed to be tubular, sun-facing and have only one, funnel-like entrance, simple termination and no branches. This study is the first one showing morphological features of the burrows and the burrowing activity of the common field-cricket, being a contribution to ichnology of soils. Preservation of the burrows is possible by their filling, for instance by sand during flooding. The burrows do n...

Scientific material for the present study was collected using pitfall traps. Currently, seven different habitats are being investigated in the Tirana district from the northwest, centre and northeast of Tirana city. The Vora hills have yielded the highest number of invertebrates, as compared to two other areas, from which the locality with Robinia pseudoacacia comprises 25.5%. Findings of Mollusca, Annelida and Arthropoda have resulted respectively in records of Gastropoda, Oligochaeta, Arachnida, Diplopoda, Chilopoda and Insecta. Seasonal distribution data reveals a significant spring composition of 38.9% of all invertebrates. Keywords: Methodology, Mediterranean, terrestrial fauna

The faunistic material was collected from seven different habitats in the Tirana district using pitfall traps. Furthermore, 108 species belonging to 69 genera and 25 families were found. Spiders are classified into 17 chorotypes, combined in four chorological complexes. The composition of the spider fauna shows a Holarctic and Mediterranean character. The presence of endemic spider species in the Tirana district indicates the local nature of this fauna.
Climate fundamental provides limiting opportunities of human activities and ecosystem functioning... more Climate fundamental provides limiting opportunities of human activities and ecosystem functioning within global ecology. Climate change could effect on alterations in the frequency and severity of droughts and floods; water supply; air, soil, and water quality; ecosystem health; human health; and resource use and the economy. Climate change may act through multiple pathways; interactions in and impacts on the global ecosystem can be different pathways. Within ecosystem environment, there are already numerous stressors that cause ecosystem change including land use change, pollution, eutrophication, invasion of exotic species, and acid precipitation. Climate changing should be considered as another agent of change acting in concert with other ecosystem stress. All over the world in many ecosystems, flora and fauna were affected with global warming and change of ecological environment change that many species in flora and fauna were under stress and some of them were lost the defense ...
