ABSTRACT Corrosion due to CO 2 and H 2 S is present in many oil and gas fields. In an oilfield producing water, oil, CO 2 and/or H 2 S the corrosion velocity will depend on many factors: CO 2 and/or H 2 S concentrations, system pressure and temperature, solids, scale properties, phases behaviour, flow velocity, flow regime, water pH, pipe material and inorganic ions in water. CO 2 and/or H 2 S corrosion severity and its huge economical impact on oil and gas wells have motivated a large scale theoretical and experimental research. This model allows the prediction of corrosion due inorganic ions due to CO 2 and H 2 S in oil and gas fields.
