Deepak Bajracharya
I am a senior management, communication and program development expert. I have worked for 30 years in managing public health projects, public-private partnerships, developing communication tools, and in conducting social marketing and research and evaluation of programs for the Government of Nepal, international organizations and with organizations in Nepal. I have founded and been executive director of major development and research organizations in Nepal (Group for Technical Assistance, MITRA Samaj), directed international organizations in Nepal (Population Services International, Nepal Red Cross Society, Center for Development and Population Activities) and worked closely with the Government of Nepal on projects with the Child Health Division, the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, and the National Centre for AIDS and STD Control of the Ministry of Health and Population, and the National Social Welfare Council, on projects related to routine immunization, post-earthquake Cholera surveillance, typhoid vaccine introduction, HIV/AIDS, adult literacy and family planning. I have developed and worked on programs and been a consultant for a number of international organizations in Nepal and in other countries, including UNFPA (Adolescent Health), UNICEF (Childhood Immunization), WHO (Vaccination management operations), Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health (Cholera surveillance, vaccination), the Sabin Vaccine Institute (Typhoid Fever surveillance, and Typhoid Fever socio-economic disease burden), the International Vaccine Institute (Typhoid Fever vaccination and coverage, Cholera surveillance and vaccination), and the Global Health Initiative of the Henry Ford Health System (Anti-microbial resistance).
