Design/methodology/approach: The case study analysis method was applied for this research. In addition, firms can understand the opportunities and challenges of digital servitization and prepare themselves before implementing the business model. Research limitations/implications: Digital servitization model was proposed to analyze a single pizza company but a comparative study with other firms can be conducted to identify differences and create a common strategy. Originality/value: Firms commonly use an integrated digital transformation and servitization model to create customer value, but few case studies on integrated case models...

The proposed research model and developed hypotheses were tested using structural equations modeling based on the data collected from 239 employees who had more than three years of work experiences at general hospitals in South Korea. The results of the study indicated that QM activities have positive effects on STS components, which in turn help improve internal customer experience and organizational performance. The study results provide insights to healthcare organizations for sustainable hospital management strategies.

Specifically, the study focused on case analysis of three companies that switched their sales approach to D2C and examined the consequences of this change in three areas: customer problem solving, centralization strategy, and purchasing strategy for value creation. First, the study revealed that all three case companies applied the D2C operational management strategy to effectively respond to customer requests. Second, since online platform operations of the firms were similar, a centralization strategy should be pursued with differentiated product composition or service for each company. Third, the three companies should have considered communication with customers through the purchasing process for value creation, which would have been an important strategy. Based on the case ...

This study applied a multiple methodological approach as follows. A thorough review of the literature was performed to delineate the factors that have been explored for reducing medical waste; hospital staff who handle medical waste were surveyed to obtain their opinions on these factors; the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was applied to determine the priorities among the identified key factors; and experts’ opinions were consulted to assess the actual applicability of the results derived by the AHP. The study identified the following factors as the most important: medical waste management (26.6%), operational management issues (21.7%), training for medical waste management procedures (17.8%), raising awareness (17.5%), and environmental assessment (16.4%). This study analyzed the contributing factors to the generation of medical waste based on the d...

Such efforts are important for improving quality of products and/or services and increasing business performance. It is especially important for health care organizations as quality of care and service is a top priority. The focus of this study is on the implementation of quality programs which are based on tools, awards criteria, or standards to improve quality of care in the health care industry. Two hundred fifty-four hospitals with more than 100 beds that have quality programs were used to collect data for this study. Two of the most widely used quality programs were quality control (61.8 %) and total quality management (60.6 %). As widely known quality programs have shown to play a role in improving quality of care in the global health care market, some hospitals implement a combination of various quality programs to get certification or an award that helps them enter the international market such as medical tourism.

A notable example of these services or technologies is the online product recommendation system that serves to reduce consumer search costs and risks associated with the purchase of unfamiliar products. Electronic word-of-mouth systems (EWOMS) are online product recommendation systems that allow consumers to electronically post information in the form of product reviews and/or product ratings. This study examines the effects of EWOMS on consumers' acceptance of product recommendations. The proposed research model is developed based on the accessibility-diagnosticity model and source credibility theory. A lab experiment was conducted to empirically test hypotheses. The study found that information diagnosticity, informant trustworthiness, and perceived usefulness are critical factors for consumers' acceptance of recommendations based on EWOMS.
