Learning about endangered species is important for many reasons. By learning about some animal and plant species that are in trouble, students discover why we need to protect all the species on the planet, including the ones that are not as cute as pandas or as majestic as elephants. By examining the problems of endangered species, students may begin to appreciate the crucial role of habitat protection. Doing the above mentioned students use English to practice reading, note-taking, speaking and meaningful listening.

In 2006/7 a new syllabus for primary schools entered into force and the previous integrative model of music teaching was abandoned. An open pattern of music teaching became the obligatory pattern according to which the music teaching in primary schools is to be realised. Central activity of the open pattern is listening to music. Within the framework of music teaching in the first three grades of primary school teaching areas of singing, playing an instrument, listening to music as well as elements of musical creativity have been performed while in the fourth grade the teaching areas include singing, listening and introduction to music, performing music, musical literacy, musical games. In Croatian primary schools in the first four grades the annual number of teaching classes in music amounts to 35 i.e. music is taught one teaching class a week. Teaching is performed by a cla...

Teaching foreign languages to pupils at primary school level (ages 7-11) differs considerably from teaching older pupils. Singing and listening to songs in a foreign language help pupils learn new linguistic content since pupils of that age learn by hollistic approach. At the same time music makes learning more interesting and it makes the learning environment and atmosphere merrier, more relaxed, which again makes learning easier. In addition, learning through games is very important for primary school pupils. The paper deals with a research conducted with an aim to establish existence and adequacy of songs used in early German teaching in the textbooks: Applaus! 1, Auf die Plätze, fertig, los! 1 and Hurra! Deutsch! 1 and the audio CDs that accompany the textbooks that are used for teaching German as a foreign language in the first grade of primary school. The textbooks have been approved by Croatian Ministery of Science, Education and Sports for school years 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13. From linguistic point of view the variables included in the analysis of the the songs were vocabulary and grammar structures, function and cultural background whereas the variables from the musical point of view were the range, tempo, rhythm, tonality and mood. The analysis has been done for 35 songs in the above mentioned textbooks with CDs. The analysis has led to the conclusion that when it comes to selection of songs included in the textbooks the authors of foreign language textbooks should consult music teachers so as to avoid possible inadequacies (eg. inappropriate tonality, excessive range, inappropriate performance, excessive tempo, complicated rhythm, demanding melody) in order that listening to and singing songs achieve their final goal i.e. foreign language learning but indirectly also developing pupilsʼ musical skills. Key words: primary education, early German language learning, singing and listening to songs

Njegov novi pristup brendiranju ukazuje na to kako koristenjem univerzalne, temeljne, bezvremenske emocije LJUBAVI izražene u univerzalnim i bezvremenskim metaforama, nova ideja lovemark utjelovljuje misteriju (dobre price, proslost, sadasnjost i buducnost, ostvarenje snova, mitove i ikone, nadahnuce), senzualnost (sluh, vid, njuh, opip, okus) i intimnost (odanost, suosjecanje, strast).
