Abstract In 2010 a chance find of an undecorated Iberian fine ware vessel was made at «El Palao». It was partially buried, fragmented and dispersed near the point of the main find. As it was in an area that had suffered considerable erosion, it was decided to survey the surrounding area. The results of this survey were positive, with the discovery of a circular structure excavated in the geological terrain, in which different items had been deposited. Among them we found a plate or lid, a large crater-shaped piece of undecorated Iberian fine ware, an imitation Empúries grey ware jug, a bronze patera with handles of the so-called Iberian «small Punic brazier» type and an equine lower jawbone. This collection of items appears to denote the clear ritual nature of the deposit and, by comparing it with finds at other sites, it would appear to of a funerary nature. We are unable to confirm this as no cremated human bones were found, nor any of the more common grave goods, such as fibulas, pins, etc. Perhaps the considerable erosion of the area, which has notably affected the structure, causing a break in its northwestern perimeter and a considerable loss of depth, has led to the disappearance of these items.

Abstract During the archaeological excavations carried out at El Taratrato in 2010, specifically in the spoil mounds, the remains of two large fortified towers were found adjoining the defensive wall. They were located at the end of one of the narrow spaces previously interpreted as blind alleys; however , in the light of recent finds they have taken on a logical significance, as they lead to the middle of the towers, which may or may not have had posterns providing access from the outside. In short, we can say that there are three lateral streets towards the south and in two of them there are towers; the street in the area farther to the northwest remains to be surveyed in the search for a possible third tower on the southern side. One of the towers has been completely excavated and the other has been surveyed with the aim of determining its placement and construction type. In addition, in the area of the entrance, below a large pile of fallen adobe, the structural remains of a storage area have been excavated, as well as the remains of an Early Iron Age occupation that, pending an in-depth study of the data and finds, will change the initial foundational chronology that has to date been assumed to be the 5 th century BC.

This project has a complex perspective. The conservation of the mural paintings of San Juan Bautista (Rasal, Huesca) cannot be understood without considering it as part of its own ecological and archaeological context. Its geotechnical context, nature of the soil, landscape, biodiversity and the mysterious history of the valley are essential for a proposal of interdisciplinary intervention and longterm conservation. The chapel is BIC since 2004, but the protected area covers only a small portion of the archaeological site, so it needs a more extensive and comprehensive macroanalysis, andd it must be also carried out the necessary archaeological prospectings and a survey of the landscape, a border area inhabited since the 10yh century A. C. at least, in order to delimit its expanse properly. Up to now, we have made two campaigns with multidisciplinary interventions, which have described several aspects such as the geological characteristics of the soil, the correspondence between inside and outside mortars, the thermo hygrometrical dynamics and the historical context. Regarding the historical context, the archaeological value of the enclave must be stood out: we are facing a syncretic complex covering a complete historical process, from the Roman occupation to the consolidation of Christian conquest and the recovery of the Jacobean Route. ith respect to preservatioin wors, we are undertaing the systematic stratigraphic consolidation of inside and outside mortars, the disposal of overlapping materials and monitoring of the inside and outside conditions. ur proposal of interdisciplinary intervention considers the systematic prospecting of the place and the restoration and conservation of the cultual heritage in order to achieve a sustainable economic activity in the valley of Alto állegoarona.
