The goal of this research is to use the cascade approach to buck boost converters in order to pro... more The goal of this research is to use the cascade approach to buck boost converters in order to produce high step-up voltage gain with a suitable duty ratio for an electric energy conversion system. Electronic equipment that demand electricity must convert AC voltage sources into DC power since they cannot be powered directly by the current electrical AC voltage. Significant voltage increases cannot be achieved by traditional boost converters because of the influence of power switches, parasitic resistive parts, and the diodes' reverse-recovery issue. The high voltage gains step-up (HVGSU) DC-DC converter, which combines two integrated buck-boost converters with a single switch, is proposed in this study. With the cascode technique, high voltage gain can be obtained without an extreme duty ratio; in this case, the switch's duty ratio is regulated by PWM technology. There is a thorough discussion of the suggested converter's equipment and modeling.

Nevertheless, there is more switching stress in this dual-level SEMIC, which raises switching losses. This rise in switching loss causes the power converter's efficiency to drop. This research suggests a Triple stage SeMIC with lower switching losses to get over this drawback. Using a lower rated switch, Triple level SEMIC increases power efficiency. There is a description of a control method that balances the voltage of the capacitor to avoid damaging the power switch. The suggested converter also lessens the ripple in inductor current in the output inductor. Triple level SeMIC uses a hybrid wind-solar energy system as a source. The benefits of the suggested converter are emphasized by discussing the simulation results of both dual-and Triple-level SeMIC.

The majority of our power plants and automotive applications make extensive use of surge conversions. Every component in a converter is accountable for causing one of the many problem kinds that affect the converter. In order to construct a tolerant of faults DC-DC converter, the reaction of the single switch DC-DC converter under various potential failures was examined. Utilizing a MATLAB Simulink approach, the response of each device across both typical and various potential fault scenarios was derived. The goal of this article is to examine the best electricity storage methods, both in terms of tec... more The goal of this article is to examine the best electricity storage methods, both in terms of technology and economics, for tiny, independent electrical grids that are integrated with power plants that generate renewable energy sources (RES). As case studies, three autonomous Greek islands-Symi, Astypalaia, and Kastelorizo-with yearly and approximately for our work is peak demand of 3.9 MW, 2.1 MW, and 0.889 MW, respectively, are examined. Every island under investigation has exceptional solar and wind potential, and their locations are perfect for the installation of seawater PHS (pumped hydro storage). Regarding the energy storage facilities, two distinct strategies are examined: PHS systems (for the two largest islands) and electrochemical storage, which is another name for lead acid or lithium-ion batteries. Potential RES units include photovoltaic installations and wind farms. The analysed plants' dimensioning is optimised with a shared goal in mind: achieving an annual percentage of RES penetration above 69.9% while keeping the selling price of energy below the current specific production cost. The analysis is combined with the systems under examination's economic assessment. It is demonstrated that wind-PHS is still a competitive alternative for Symi and Astypalaia given the proper land morphology for PHS installations, while a windp/v-batteries features as the best choice for Kastelorizo. Only with PHS support can 99.9% annual RES penetration be attained; with electrochemical batteries, annual RES penetration can range from 79.9 to 91.1%. Electricity selling prices between 199 and 349 €/kWh, which result in payback periods between five and nine years, ensure the economic viability.

Comprehensive mathematical models with three distinct controllers (PID, FOPID, and fuzzy + PID) f... more Comprehensive mathematical models with three distinct controllers (PID, FOPID, and fuzzy + PID) for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) are constructed in this work. The models are made to indirectly control the input hydrogen mass flow rate in order to set the output voltage of the PEMFCs at a predetermined value. The simulation results demonstrate how effectively the established model fits the task of characterizing a PEFC's performance. While the developed controllers are capable of stabilizing voltage, the fuzzy + PID controller performs better, exhibiting a reduced overshoot and a faster response time.

This article describes a power plant that is versatile regarding its modeling and associated with... more This article describes a power plant that is versatile regarding its modeling and associated with a Multiple Objectives Particle Swarm optimization in order to determine the optimal size of each component of the power plant. The simulation is appropriate for a variety of power sources, storage devices and loads. The method is utilized on a Wind Turbine/ Photovoltaic Device/ Battery System setup located in Tilos, Greece. The optimization is intended to reduce the expense of the system and the energy derived from alternative sources that are not renewable. The results produce a Pareto front that represents the expense of the equipment and the degree of autonomy of the micro-grid. The most effective solution to a specific expense associated with energy importation is demonstrated as an example.

Maintaining current Situation Awareness (SA) information is vital for successful C2 systems, requiring incessant and opportune location data from pertinent stages in the battlefield. The accuracy and obtainability of this location evidence straight impact active efficiency. Traditionally, positioning served the purpose of "own ship" pilotage, answering the question of navigating from Point A to Point B. However, the part of placement as a communal reserve is evolving, increasing the status of location evidence quality and availability. The primary source of this position data is the NAVSTAR Global Positioning System (GPS), offering a consistent coordinate reference with accuracy unaffected by time or distance traveled, and with lower integration costs compared to alternatives like Inertial Navigation Units (INU) or Doppler Radar Navigation Sets. It's crucial to note that GPS is susceptible to ElectroMagnetic Interference (EMI) and signal blockage in Urban and Compound Terrain. Technological initiatives are focused on exploring advanced integration techniques that combine externally aided and self-contained navigation systems.
