Elisa Lozano
Researcher and independent curator, studied Visual Arts and History of Art at the UNAM. She has participated in various cultural projects and exhibitions on Mexican photography and cinema for national and foreign institutions, the most recent ones being: El ingenio foto fílmico de Gilberto Martínez Solares: 70 años de creación (Museo del Estanquillo, 2021 -2011). The film factory (2017); Cultural legacy of the Spanish exile in Mexico City (Mexico-Madrid, 2014). She had a scholarship from the Fonca (2012-2014); and has been a guest editor and columnist of the magazines: Alquimia, Luna Córnea, Correcamara, Acervos and Cuartoscuro, where she has the section "In movement", dedicated to historical and contemporary cinematography.
She is the author of the books: Lucero Isaac: woman of all spaces (México, Vestalia, 20121); El ingenio foto fílmico de Gilberto Martínez Solares: 70 años de creación (Museo del Estanquillo, 2021); Towards the recovery of a lost plastic: Set designers and art directors of Mexican cinema (2014), and co-author, among others: Manuel Fontanals, Mexican film set designer (2014), which she also coordinated; Two furtive lovers: Mexican cinema and theater; Gunther Gerzso: The art of the ephemeral (2015) and ¡Lights, camera, action! Cinematographers of the Mexican cinema, 1931-2011 (2011).
She is currently coordinating a book about Mexican film costume designers, 1931- 1981.
