This study investigates the human story of Combestone Farm, Holne over some 700 years from the 14th to the 21st century. It draws on documentary, photographic and oral evidence. Combestone is an isolated farm, close to the boundary of the Forest of Dartmoor and was probably closely involved in the summer grazing of animals. There were historic tinworks and a tin mine on its land.
