New developments are available on the market, using different methods, with different functionalities, accuracy and price. This article proposes an innovative approach for non-contact measurement of soil moisture using capacitive flexible sensors. Three different forms of capacitive structures printed with Inkjet technology, silver nanoparticle ink and PET substrate were studied. The results for the change of the capacity and impedance of the structures when the soil moisture changes are presented.

We have also investigated the change of impedance with heating in a thermo-chamber and its change at cooling. The results obtained are described and analysed to determine the influence of temperature sintering on the properties of the printed layers as well as to find application of the structures as sensing elements.

We have studied the impedance variation at different frequencies ranging from 100Hz to 200kHz. The results obtained are described and analysed to find application of the structures for different types of sensors.

Conducting layers are printed with InkJet technology. The methods and systems for measuring sheet resistance are examined and described. The calculation methods, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the standard methods, are shown. The developed and presented virtual system is an automated measurement system for sheet resistance by Van der Pauw method.

Outstanding characteristics of inks based on nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes has made this technology a good choice for various electronic applications such as sensors, transparent electrodes and flexible electronics. The incorporation of metallic, organic and oxide nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes into functional inks is used in order to obtain sensibility to different physical quantities. The present paper focuses on the systematization of commercial and custom-made inks recently developed for desktop inkjet printers.

They become smaller and compact, with lower power consumption and higher accuracy. These devices are then integrated into wireless body area networks (WBANs) which promise real-time healthcare monitoring during daily activities. WBANs or body sensor network is a wireless network of computing devices that can be carried over BAN devices. Sensors can be implanted in the body, worn on the body and their position can be fixed. There might be accompanying devices that people are free to carry in a pocket as a garment or in a handbag. The position of the device does not influence the person's comfort.

The cross-section of the plastic acoustic absorber is in the form of a semi-tube. The acoustic absorber is modeled and studied with COMSOL Multyphisics®. Some of the simulation numerical results of the acoustic absorber model and the experimental verification are compared and presented.

The electrical properties and parameters of such sensors are dependent on the type of ink, its composition, the type of the substrate, and the number of printed layers. In this paper, we study the influence of the shape, the type of the substrate and the temperature on the impedance of the printed structures.

They are increasingly used in a number of public and private projects. UAVs with their mobility and ability to fly at different altitudes can compensate for some shortcomings in the wireless sensor network and offer an alternative approach to data harvesting. With their help, it is easy to allow spatial research of different areas/spaces. This is particularly important in the study of air pollution, which changes sharply even over relatively short distances in the horizontal and vertical directions. In the present study is presented a research of possibilities for application of a new instrument for studying the air quality at different altitudes, which is accessible to a wide range of users. The approach is based on using cheap UAVs and low-cost air quality sensors. This paper shows the relevance of a customized, off the shelf UAV equipped with mobile monitoring devices as an effective, versatile, and unconventional means to collect three-dimensional air pollutant concentration data.
