An amine group was synthesized starting from an optically active bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane compound, ... more An amine group was synthesized starting from an optically active bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane compound, which was then used to build the 5 atoms ring of a key 6-chloropurine intermediate. This was then reacted with ammonia and selected amines obtaining new adenine- and 6-substituted adenine conformationally constrained carbocyclic nucleoside analogues with a bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane skeleton in the sugar moiety. X-ray crystallography confirmed an exo-coupling of base to the ring and a L configuration of the nucleoside analogues. The compounds were tested for anticancer activity.
Pyranylium perchlorates with azulen‐1‐yl moiety in 4‐position and thiophen‐2‐yl or furan‐2‐yl in ... more Pyranylium perchlorates with azulen‐1‐yl moiety in 4‐position and thiophen‐2‐yl or furan‐2‐yl in 2 and 6‐positions were obtained by the substitution of 4‐chloro corresponding salts with azulenes. The pyranylium salts are used as starting materials for the synthesis of pyridine and pyridinium salts. The products were characterized and for pyridines pKa was spectroscopically determined. Several attempts were made for pyridine complexation with metal cations as Hg2+ or Ag+. J. Heterocyclic Chem., (2011).
The fragmentation of unsubstituted and substituted 1-phenylselanyl-azulenes, as well as of the co... more The fragmentation of unsubstituted and substituted 1-phenylselanyl-azulenes, as well as of the corresponding selenoxides and selenones in the electrospray ionization mass spectrometer, was reported and examined. Both their molecular peaks and the fragmentation paths were discussed in function of the azulene substituents and of the selenium oxidation states.
