Quality is not an outcome of accidental occurrence, it is the result of purposeful design. Quality must be incorporated into every aspect of the design of products, or services to guarantee that market and customer needs are attained. As the definition of quality expands, the challenges faced by designers, with their inherent human capability limits and personal foibles, become more complex, requiring new strategic direction for the design process.
