System theory was applied as the theoretical foundation of the study. This qualitative study looks at the complex link between climate change and food security in Nigeria, using current literature and data analysis. According to the findings, Nigeria is facing increasing temperatures, erratic rainfall patterns, droughts, floods, and desertification, which are resulting in lower agricultural yields, greater food insecurity, and increased vulnerability for millions of people who rely on agriculture. The agriculture industry, which employs a large proportion of the population, is especially vulnerable to these effects. Beyond agriculture, climate change has an impact on the energy, health, and security sectors, aggravating Nigeria's problems. To address these issues, recommendations include encouraging sustainable agriculture practices, improving climate resilience, investing in climate-resilient infrastructure, promoting climate-smart agricultural research and innovation, raising awareness, and working with regional and international partners. These activities seek to alleviate the consequences of climate change on food security while also promoting adaptation and resilience in Nigeria's agricultural sector.

Though political opposition is essential to the functioning of self-governing institutions and societies, the role of opposition parties in developing democracies like Nigeria has gotten little attention. Based on this, the research aims to investigate Nigeria's opposition party and democratic process. The Theory of Consensus Democracy and Prebendalism Theory serve as the theoretical foundation for this study. The overall weakness of Nigeria's political opposition was revealed through qualitative examination of material that was mostly collected from secondary sources. The study asserted that among other things, fragmentation, violence, desertion, manipulation of election rules, and money politics are to blame for political parties' inability to function as effective platforms for opposition to the ruling party. The study suggests, among other things, that Nigerians and the media oppose increased political chances. Additionally, the supporters of the competing parties must immediately mobilize the voter. This circumstance is an out different from how they have always been marketed as being reachable in developed countries.

This qualitative research dives into the historical setting, looking at how the relationship progressed from initial reluctance to vigorous economic participation. China has made significant investments in Nigeria, notably in infrastructure projects, although there are still concerns about trade imbalances and possible economic reliance. Diplomatically, both countries have increased ties, with Nigeria backing China's international ambitions, particularly its pursuit for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council. The political economy approach provides a theoretical framework for evaluating the relationship's multidimensional dynamics, focusing on the interaction of economic interests, political power, and societal repercussions. Diversifying Nigeria's trade partners, improving local firms, and maintaining openness in investment agreements are among the recommendations made to promote mutual benefit and long-term sustainability.

This study delves into the intricate dynamics of ethnoreligious identity and its profound influence on the arduous path of democratic consolidation in Nigeria's Fourth Republic. Nigeria, characterized by its rich diversity of ethnic and religious groups, has grappled with the complexities of harnessing this diversity for democratic growth. Theoretically, the paper adopted the conflict trap. The paper employed a secondary method of data collection and analysis based on the collection of data from books, journals, and web-based materials, among others. The results revealed that ethnoreligious identities contribute to the nation's unique character by providing a source of cultural richness and diversity. They also give people a sense of belonging and identity. When these identities, however, become politicized and instrumentalized, they can pose serious threats to democratic consolidation. The study concludes that ethno-religious identity is an integral part of Nigeria's social fabric and that its politicization can pose significant challenges to democratic consolidation. Addressing these challenges requires a multifaceted approach that promotes inclusive governance, civic education, and responsible leadership. Ultimately, a united and democratic Nigeria can thrive by embracing its diversity while transcending the divisive aspects of ethno-religious identity politics.

To achieve this objective, the paper deployed Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT) as a framework of analysis and collected data from primary sources such as Structured Questionnaire (SQ) and secondary sources such as books, journals, and web-based, materials among others. Data collected via SQ were analysed using descriptive statistics while research hypothesis was tested at 5% level of significance using non-parametric statistics (chi-square). The results of the test of hypothesis revealed that the deployment and use of BVAS machines did not improve the integrity of the 2023 general election in Kogi state, Nigeria. Further findings reveal that INEC actually failed to upload the poll results, especially the presidential election results on the INEC Result Viewing (IREV) portal in realtime as well as the unprecedented level of electoral malpractices that characterised the process. Based on these finding, the paper concludes that, if such practices are not urgently addressed; democracy may not be the only casualty as the Nigerian state may eventually collapse under the unenviable weight of electoral violence consequent upon incessant electoral irregularities. Based on this conclusion, the paper recommends among others that, INEC should live up to its name by being independent and ensure it conducts elections without fear or favour and in accordance with the provisions of the electoral law.

Documentation was used to gather the majority of the data from secondary sources, and content analysis was used to give the information a complete and comprehensible explanation. Because of its ability to describe the pattern of relations between the legislative and executive branches in Nigeria's democratic system, Baron Montesquieu's theory of separation of powers, which was created in 1948, was chosen as the framework for examination. The study discovered that the relationships between the legislative and executive branches were unhealthy, antagonistic, conflictual, and dysfunctional during the study period, particularly from 2015 to 2022. Additionally, it is demonstrated that a variety of elements, including constitutional provisions, the capacity to pass laws, the administration of public funds, the perception of executive dominance, haughtiness, and a disregard for the law, among others, are to blame for the ongoing conflicts between the Legislative and Executive arms that have a detrimental effect on the development of democracy in Nigeria. Based on these findings, the study recommends that the connection between the executive and legislative arms of government be reinforced in order to promote a democracy that functions in Nigeria. Additionally, it is recommended that those in public office respect the law.

In general, gender discrimination has emerged as a significant global concern that has sparked a variety of debates among authors on the subject of women's participation and its effects. Liberal Feminist Theory and Gender Streaming Theory served as the theoretical foundation and analytical framework of this study. Data were collected from secondary sources and subjected to qualitative content analysis. It was discovered that a number of factors, including zoning formula, discrimination in law and customs, intimidation, thuggery, and violence, lack of financial support, and women's perspectives on politics, among others, had impacted on women's participation in Nigeria's electoral process. It was further demonstrated that these encumbrances make it difficult for them to vote and this undermines Nigeria's ability to maintain a viable democracy. The paper suggests that the current policy on women's empowerment be changed to take into account the current situation. Additionally, this approach places a great priority on hiring women for positions of authority in order to maintain a democratic government for growth and development in Nigeria.
