RESUMEN Este trabajo presenta conceptos sobre las tendencias arquitectónicas y urbanas de la arqu... more RESUMEN Este trabajo presenta conceptos sobre las tendencias arquitectónicas y urbanas de la arquitectura moderna y su influencia en la arquitectura y el urbanismo en Quito. No obstante, El historicismo, también denominado romanticismo, fue un estilo arquitectónico desarrollado entre finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX. Este particular estilo concentraba todos sus esfuerzos en recuperar la arquitectura de tiempos pasados, imitando estilos arquitectónicos de otras épocas e incorporándole algunas características culturales propias del tiempo moderno y el país donde estaban ubicadas las construcciones. Asimismo, el eclecticismo, un estilo muy parecido al historicismo y que tiende a ser confundido con este, denominado ecléctico, se dedicaba a mezclar estilos para dar forma a algo totalmente nuevo. Además este trabajo expone al impresionismo como una tendencia en la cual su único dogma era el de la arquitectura debía revelarse a si misma, por otra el racionalismo se destaca por formas simples y geométricas y por una cierta severidad, donde los elementos puramente decorativos son rechazados. ABSTRACT This paper presents concepts of architectural and urban trends of modern architecture and its influence on architecture and urbanism in Quito. However, Historicism, also called Romanticism was an architectural style developed between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This particular style concentrated all their efforts on recovering the architecture of the past, imitating architectural styles of other times and incorporating some cultural characteristics of modern times and the country where the buildings were located. Also, eclecticism, historicism very similar style and it tends to be confused with this, called eclectic, was devoted to mix styles to shape something new. Furthermore, this paper presents Impressionism as a trend in which his only dogma was that of architecture should reveal itself, on the other rationalism it stands for simple, geometric forms and a certain severity, where the purely decorative elements are rejected.
