The paper first reviews the basics of realtime systems and traditional programming models used in embedded systems, like sequential programming model and traditional cooperative multitasking model. Greater part of article presents an alternative multitasking programming model, the timed cooperative multitasking. The authors take the reader through the process of kernel design based on timed cooperative multitasking model. The paper ends with demonstration of event-driven model used in timed cooperative multitasking model.

Controlled environment (closed loop) is used more and more often in the agricultural sector to pr... more Controlled environment (closed loop) is used more and more often in the agricultural sector to provide all-year supply of required plants (fruits, vegetables, alternative energy plants (in photobioreactor) etc…). Light is a key factor in plant cultivation beside nutrients to enhance growing of crops (e.g.; plant factory). The aim of this study is to provide knowledge for electrical engineers about LED driving methods and sensor (feedback) apparatus in connection with plant biology to control farming qualities, depending on the plants the light equipment is designed for. The study helps to find the optimal driver and control system in order to design more effective and sufficient system for plant cultivation.

Wireless devices in Internet of Things (IoT) solutions are communicating with messages. The message based communication in these systems can be represented as event-driven control network. In event-driven control networks the input values of the system not available at the same time. The aim of this paper is to show a possible solution to describe Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) as an event-driven network. This paper describes the implementation and validation of event-driven control network based Takagi-Sugeno FIS in Node-RED programming tool.

The paper do not demonstrate all programming models, only the most important variations based on writer's opinion. The writer tried to show the advantages and disadvantages of each programming models discussed in article. The paper begins with traditional models like sequential model, cooperative multitasking and continues with timed cooperative model and finish with event-driven model.

Many people choose courses provided by universities, some because they want to have a completely different carrier so they train to achieve that goal, or because they need the formal qualification in their current job. Nowadays virtual learning became more and more popular, distance learning on one hand needs to provide high quality and well blended material, on the other hand needs to be easily accessed electronically. These courses require less contact time, therefore is easily accessed by adults. This article presents the opinions of our students, on our online learning opportunities, the University's approach to our adult learners, the expectations of our long distance learners.

For example in food processing the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) framework specify procedures for periodical recording of temperature of storage spaces for food quality and safety. This paper introduces one test sensor network usable for simultaneous data collection. The paper compares centralized data collecting methods like polling, synchronized broadcast response and merged data collection. The introduced data collecting methods are specified for wireless sensor networks based on mesh network with Time-Division Multiple Access (TDMA) medium access using flooding routing.

The lifetime of the battery in the sensor nodes can be increased by reducing the power consumption of the radio communication cycles. This paper focuses on the possible communication algorithms to reduce the power consumption of the receiver mode in the sensor nodes in a multi-hop TDMA wireless mesh network with flooding routing. One possible aspect of reducing power consumption is the synchronized sleep mode of the sensor nodes. In this case the sensor nodes can be sent to sleep mode by disabling the radio communication until the next data collecting period. Another aspect discussed in this paper is to optimize the different communication modes during the radio communication in the network. The analyzed communication algorithms based on the FRC (Fast Respond Command) central data collecting method.
