Julie Henigan
Julie Henigan is a literary scholar, folklorist, poet, and musician, whose book Literacy and Orality in Eighteenth-Century Irish Song was published by Pickering and Chatto in 2012, and reprinted by Routledge in 2013. In Fall 2012, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Queen's Belfast. She has also worked as an adjunct instructor for Drury University in their English department (teaching composition and the History of the English Language) and as a guest lecturer in Folklore and English classes at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, where she was recently employed for several semesters as a teaching and grading assistant.
While working on her Ph.D. at Notre Dame, she taught first-year writing and Irish Traditional Music; and, as a teaching assistant, she lectured on subjects ranging from British ballads to Irish history and led discussions groups for classes on British and Irish literature. She has also worked as an oral historian, archivist, substitute teacher, on-line essay tutor, free-lance writer, and lecturer. For further details, see the attached CV.
