domain (PCT)containingalternatingdisorderedandorderedregions.AmongtheselatteristheP
multimerization domain(PMD).Usingbiochemical,analyticalultracentrifugationandsmall-angleX-ray
scattering (SAXS)studies,weshowthatHendravirus(HeV)PMDformsanelongatedcoiled-coil
homotrimer insolution,inagreementwithourprevious findings onNipahvirus(NiV)PMD.However,
the orientationoftheN-terminalregiondiffersfromthatobservedinsolutionforNiVPMD,consistent
with theabilityofthisregiontoadoptdifferentconformations.SAXSstudiesprovidedevidencefora
trimeric organizationalsointhecaseofPCT,thusextendingandstrengtheningour findings onPMD.The
present resultsarediscussedinlightofconflicting reportsintheliteraturepointingtoatetrameric
