Nevertheless, for those who has successfully negotiated it, education provides the key to self-determination, active and equal participation in the society. Since 2007, United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) is relevant to the Australia's Indigenous people. It has provided several guidelines, such as self-determination, rights and equity, which should be given to them. The UNDRIP should be not just an acceptance of a symbolic gesture but a more active 'recognition of rights'. Therefore, this paper reviews the current and the past reports that reflect the shifts in government policy of Indigenous education in Australia during the important key period when government policy relating to the Indigenous people shifted between 1974 and 2014. Though there are successes in treating clients towards a positive behaviour, there are still a lot of relapse cases occurring among them. Hence, this study is to examine the relationship of mandated counselling satisfaction and behaviour change among institutionalised adolescent. A total of 365 respondents from six states which are Selangor, Melaka, Perak, Terengganu, Pahang and Sarawak were requited. The respondents were selected based three conditions; (a) adolescent aged 13 to 19 years old; (b) has attended mandated counselling at least twice; and (c) were involved in juvenile problem. The instrument used for this study is Mandated Counselling Satisfaction (MCgSS) that measure satisfaction in mandated counselling, General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) to measure self-efficacy and University of Rhode Island Change Assessment (URICA) for behaviour change in respondents. Pearson correlation analysis showed significant positive relationship between mandated counselling satisfaction, self- efficacy on readiness to change. Multiple regression analysis revealed mandated counselling satisfaction as the unique predictor towards readiness to change. In conclusion, it is important for counsellors to improve their skills and overall process of mandated counselling in order to promote behaviour change among mandated clients.

Child and Adolescent Social Support Scale, the Adolescent Stress Questionnaire and Brief COPE Inventory, which evaluate the various ways people react to stress were employed in this study. The Sobel Mediation Test was conducted to examine the mediation outcome of problem-focused coping strategies on the relationship of social support and stress with insignificant results. Therefore, social support does not significantly impact stress through problem-focused coping strategies (z = 0.57, p > 0.05). The Sobel Mediation Test was also conducted to determine the mediation impact of emotion-focused coping strategies on the relationship between social support and stress is significant. So, social support significantly affect stress through emotion-focused coping strategies (z = 2.29, p < 0.05). The results of this investigation indicated that problem-focused coping strategies cannot mediate the relationship between social support and stress, but emotion-focused coping strategies can. Additional to the general inverse relationship between social support and stress, the use of emotion-focused coping strategies serves to strengthen the effect of social support with stress. In particular, with increase in stress, students using emotion-focused coping strategies tend to have less stress. This suggests that emotion-focused coping strategies are effective strategies to bring about decreased stress among adolescents. This study confirms the belief that using emotion-focused coping strategies could have a correlation with lower stress among Iranian adolescents and can mediate the relationship between social support and stress.

It even causes acute and chronic diseases in passive smokers. Remarkably, the age of the onset of cigarette smoking is decreasing. Therefore, it is essential to increase our knowledge concerning the attitudes among adolescents toward cigarette smoking. The present study sought to examine the association among hardiness, emotional intelligence, and attitude toward cigarette smoking in adolescents. The participants comprised of 550 high school students (ages 16 to 19 years, M = 17.1, SD = .93) from Tehran. They completed the Personal Views Survey, Assessing Emotions Scale, and Attitudes Towards Smoking Scale. The structural equation modeling estimated that adolescents with a high ability for hardiness and emotional intelligence were more likely to report negative attitude toward cigarette smoking. The findings showed that hardiness and emotional intelligence were protective factors against smoking in adolescents. Therefore, these findings reinforce the importance of hardiness training and emotional intelligence training in preventing cigarette smoking in adolescents.

A number of studies have found that the needs of youth are changing from being a transition to a highly valued period in its own right. In this way, youth life functions require modern development and traditional educational perspective cannot cover their demands. Therefore, youth is engaged in understanding the links between changes and responses with a focus on the relation between social integration and individualization. This paper is a part of a quantitative research that studied the differential affects of youth needs in the process of information age in public and private high schools in Tehran, Iran. The sample was restricted to girls’ adolescents ages 15–18. The findings show that how a new analysis of the relation between youth, modernization and competence can influence the general understanding and educational developmental from youth perspectives when many of them know perfectly well where they are, but their parents, teachers and principals don’t aware about that. The paper ends with a guide for planning and conducting some activities in order to facilitate youth needs in the process of information age. Key words: Youth, Adolescents, Modern Education, Traditional Education, Information Age
