Odor emission significantly influences on the quality of people life and can significantly decrease the quality of the environment. Over the world there is used several methods to assess odor air quality including analytical chemistry methods, dynamic olfactometry and static dilutions, field inspections, surveys and modeling. In Poland, the standardization document regarding to odor is the PN-EN 13725:2007 standard "Air Quality. Determination of odor concentration by dynamic olfactometry." that includes a description of the methodology of the odor concentration measuring and sets out the requirements necessary to ensure the quality of olfactometric research. In order to determine odor emissions, it is necessary to determine the odor concentration, which is expressed in European odor units per c...

Na podstawie otrzymanych wyników i określonych w projekcie Ustawy o przeciw-działaniu uciążliwości zapachowejdopuszczal-nych wartości stężeń zapachowych i częstości przekroczeń obliczono wymagany poziom re-dukcji emisji odorów oraz ustalono dopusz-czalną jej wartość. Zaproponowano również możliwości ograniczenia emisji odorów w od-niesieniu do wybranego obiektu.

Recently, there have been a few projects that examined air quality in rural areas (e.g., AUPHEP project in Austria, WOODUSE project in Denmark). Here we present the results within the International Cooperation Project RER/2/005 targeted at studying the effect of local combustion processes to air quality in the village of Brzezina in the countryside north-west of Wroclaw (south western Poland). We identified the potential emission sources and quantified their contributions. The ambient aerosol monitoring (PM(10) and elemental concentrations) was performed during 4 measurement cycles, in summer 2009, 2010 and in winter 2010, 2011. Some receptor modeling techniques, factor analysis-multiple linear regression analysis (FA-MLRA) and potential source localization function (PSLF), have been used. Different types of fuel burning along with domestic refuse resulted in an increased concentration of PM(10) particle mass, but also by an increased in var...

It allows to estimate the odour plume extent and distribution of particular odours concentrations in the area of an industrial object causing odour nuisance. This paper presents results of field studies in the plume, geostatistical analysis using ordinary kriging method and odour dispersion calculations using CALPUFF model. The analysis prove that the use of mathematical model with a meteorological module provides fast and efficient air quality assessment around the odour emission source.
