In many centers, due to its non-invasive and non-ionizing character, MR angiography has already replaced conventional angiography for the screening of intracranial vascular disease. Several MRA techniques have been developed for imaging the intracranial vascular system, such as time-of-flight MRA (TOF-MRA), phased-contrast MRA (PC-MRA), and more recently contrast-enhanced MRA (CE-MRA).
