CURRICULUM VITAE Name, surname: Mindaugas Peleckis Born in: 1975. Education: In 1993 graduated J.Janonis' secondary school in iauliai, 1994-1995 - in meetings of FEJS (Forum of European Journalism Students) in Prague and Ankara. 1993-1999 studied in Vilnius University (Bachelor and Master of Journalism). In 1996 studied in Utrecht University, The Netherlands, in 1998 – journalism and EU politics in Århus University (Denmark), in 2003 – courses of journalism in Maastricht University, The Netherlands, and Brussels, Belgium. From 2008 to 2014 – doctoral student of philosophy in Institute of Culture, Philosophy and Art (from 2010 - Lithuanian Culture Investigation Institute), Vilnius, Lithuania, currently writing thesis on Mulla Sadra‘s philosophy to defend it in Vytautas Magnus University. Work experience: 1997-1999 translator/interpreter of English and Russian languages in Vilnius. 1999-2004 worked in daily newspaper „Respublika“ („Republic“; starting from reporter on cultural, political, law matters to special correspondent, editor of Lithuanian matters). Worked as a freelancer in several newspapers, magazines. After that, 2006-2011 – a cultural reviewer, analyst in weekly „Literatūra ir menas“ („Literature and art“). From 2008 – Member of Lithuanian Writers‘ Union, freelance writer. From February, 2012 – editor of cultural magazine www.radikaliai.lt with more than 2200 publications of various kind. Publications: 1990-2015 author and co-author of 15 books (documentary, poems, prose, essays, scientific, encyclopedia, mythology, trilogy of novels). I published approx. 3000 journalistic publications, translated one book (Carl Honoré, In Praise of Slow), published 5 scientific publications (mainly about Islam and Messianism). I also wrote and published a book of popular science about phenomenon of apocalypse. Also, I've written a book about new religious movements in Lithuania and Sound Art of Lithuania and the world. Now they are being prepared for publishing. Scientific interests: Islamic, Iranian philosophy, Mulla Sadra‘s philosophy, comparative view of cultures, civilization studies, languages, pseudohistoriography, religious minorities in Lithuania and Europe (especially Islamic), Messianism (Mahdism), mythology, Iranian civilization, Middle Eastern studies, new trends in music, experimental music, sound art‘s investigations, history of ancient Lithuania. 2 PAGE 2
