My contribution reflects on the series of exhibitions from 2016-2017 that I curated looking at th... more My contribution reflects on the series of exhibitions from 2016-2017 that I curated looking at the work of black artists in 1980s Britain. I draw on theories of articulation, developed by Ernesto Laclau then later Stuart Hall and the field of cultural studies, as a framework through which to understand the strategies at play within the work, the context of 1980s Britain and the process of exhibition making.
