Moreover, the elicitation of the requirements coming both from the use cases and the technological partners is included. This deliverable summarizes the work that has been done in the scope of T2.1 ("Requirements Elicitation & State of the Art Analysis"). It is the third and last version of the series of deliverables of this task, whose main objective is to specify the use case scenarios, their involved datasets and their relevant user requirements, as well as the system and technical requirements that are being imposed by the platform. The purpose of this series is to track those requirements throughout the project and update them during the progress of the project. As a result, this third and last version depicts the final technical requirements that have been identified after the delivery of the first two versions of the scientific repo...

This second version (Deliverable D2.6) provides the definition of the overall architecture and its components, focuses on the integration aspects of the architecture and presents example scenarios and associated data sources from the project's Use Cases including end-to-end data path analysis. The final update of the deliverable will be published in M30. A second version of the PolicyCLOUD Conceptual Model & Reference Architecture (originally submitted as Deliverable D2.2) is presented in this document. The final update of the deliverable will be submitted in M30. The PolicyCLOUD Conceptual Model presents the overall project concept along 2 main axes. Along the first data axis PolicyCLOUD delivers Cloud Gateways and APIs to access data sources and adapt to their interfaces so as to simplify interaction and data c...

The purpose of these series is to track those requirements throughout the project and update them during the progress of the project. The approach that is followed is twofold: A top-down approach that is followed with respect to the user requirements that were collected by the use case providers themselves, after specifying the business goals and objectives of the use case, along with a concrete definition of the scenario. Moreover, a bottom-up approach is additionally complemented that aims to identify and analyse the technical requirements with respect to the technical work packages that are focusing on the platform technological needs. The result of this analysis is a list of measurable unambiguous requirements that will drive the design of the over...

In this paper we test a number of Kalman and simple particles filters-based algorithms for solving the visual tracking problem. Although results obtained from the experiments that we have conducted are promising and can be considered as adequate from all practical perspectives, more research must be done so that the filter used takes into account the existing peculiarities in the movements of human beings.

Wanting to understand the implications associated with the capabilities afforded by these technologies, a short study was commissioned. The Study Group was given four topics to investigate, both independently and in conjunction with each other. The objective was to uncover the potential positive and negative policy and regulatory implications of their widespread adoption. The topics to be studied were: • Big | Fast | Open Data • Crypto Currency • Collaborative Internet Technologies • Additive Manufacturing: including three dimensional (3D) printing Due to the brevity of the study and the corresponding few resources to deploy, the Study Group adopted a simplified hybrid Delphi 1 / ASHEN 2 method as the foundation of their study plan. This method was followed, to gather relevant data and analyse the collected data. It is Important to note that the views of industry and academic thought 1 A strategic foresight method, developed by RAND Corp: http://www.rand.org/ topics/delphi-method.html 2A knowledge elicitation technique developed by Cognitive Edge: http://cognitive-edge.com/methods/ashen/ leaders were combined in this study. All views expressed were used to develop a comprehensive set of policy options that were delivered to the STOA Unit of the EP with a final report.
