The objective of the study was to evaluate the impact of fertilizer application depth through micro-dosing on root length density and millet yields. In 2008 five treatments were used: (i) DAP (2g) at 5 cm, (ii) DAP (2g) at 10 cm, (iii) DAP (4g) at 5 cm, (iv) DAP at (4g) 10 cm and (v) control. In 2009, the treatment DAP (200kg/ha) broadcasted was added to the treatments used in 2008. The experiment was laid out in a randomized block complete design with five replications. In the topsoil (0-40 cm) root length density of millet was increased from 28% to 38% and the grain yield increased from 19 to 22 % with the application of DAP (2g) at 10 cm depth compared to the same rate DAP (2g) applied at 5cm depth. The grain yield increased due to fertilizer application at 10...
