This infrastructure is extremely complex due to its size, its multifarious technologies, and its interweaving with societal structures. Smart grids are important in future infrastructure, yet extant literature does not adequately address this complexity. This paper argues that different elements of the philosophy of Dooyeweerd offer a key to understanding this intricate complexity more fundamentally. Key concepts are the ideas of normative practices, enkapsis (intertwinement) of practices, individuality structures, and ideals and basic beliefs. By developing these ideas in the context of smart grid engineering, our research contributes to philosophy of technology, philosophy of design, and philosophy of sustainability. It offers an ontological analysis of these infrastructures, pointing a direction to the development of workable infrastructures and supporting the tran...

However, electrical networks have undergone several changes in recent decades, such as the wide range of electronic devices (converters, control devices, etc.), and those equipment produce emission of harmonic currents. The investigation of the contribution of several sources of harmonics in power systems is essential, considering that it is a problem of power quality that cannot be neglected. Thispaper aims to investigate the aggregation of harmonic currents in a 230kV TBE/Eletronorte system. For this, the transmission system was modeled using MATLAB/Simulink software with the typical values provided by TBE. A vectorial analysis was performed for the three-phase system and a sum analyzes of harmonics from different sources on Phase A, to estimate the influence of those current sources on Castanhal and Guama buses, when a harmonic spectrumis present on Vila do Conde and Utinga buses. In both analyzes, a phase ang...

In the context of Smart Grids, power systems are undergoing a transformation characterized by the high penetration of renewable sources and electronic devices in the grids, in addition to greater computerization of operations. Thus, alternatives in the representation and visualization of these integrated quality parameters become more and more necessary, both for a better understanding of these phenomena and for advanced applications with the use of images. With this in mind, this paper aims to present an alternative for visualizing PQ disturbances through 2-D images from scalograms based on the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and multiresolution analysis. For this, signals from three different sources, mathematical equations, models of transmission and distribution of energy in MATLAB / Simulink, and real signals from a database were used. For the creation of the scalogram images, the signal proc...
