The model may as well be applied in foreign language instruction. It is the author's believe that there are convincing reasons for employing digital competences and skills acquired over the last two years to enhance teaching and learning. An appropriate contextualisation of the hyflex model may further encourage the retention of the already attained competences and skills in the new normal. It may also allow to combine the traditional, in-class instruction with the new, online interaction both synchronously and asynchronously. The possibility of hyflexing language courses can be a challenging however responsible prospect because the restoration of the education we used to know might not be easy. Although theoretical, the paper provides practical guidelines as well as offers a selection of online tools to contextualise the hyflex model in language teaching. The paper may also constitute a strong claim for the practical application of the hyflex model especially when combined with an in-depth analysis and research of the model in various educational contexts. As the future is hard to envisage, various models and approaches might be taken into account so as to appropriately respond to the challenges and requirements education is likely to be confronted with.

Because of the fact that one of the recommended ways to protect against COVID-19 is isolation, schools and universities have been locked down and education has turned to information technologies as it becomes digital. This raises many issues including the further development of education which is now richer in new experiences providing progressive educational means and methods. The following text is an attempt to analyse a hybrid model of education already implemented in many school and academic settings. Hybridity has always been around us and is visible in folk tales, pop-culture, as well as in technological solutions. It is so important that it can now help redefine education and its principles, and give it a different dimension. The author of the following text tries to present various models of hybrid-rotational education in relation to their characteristics. In addition, the issue of necessary changes and consequently the implementation of the hyflex model are discussed. This article by no means exhausts the enormous spectrum of issues and research emerging in response to the pandemic. It only presents a subjective image of the hybrid instruction and its possible hyflex variation which for its participants may not be a method or a process but a strategy which, as a result of socio-technological changes, allows to flexibly combine real with virtual, permanent with temporary or passive with pragmatic.

Student satisfaction, being a multifaceted construct, is contingent on an array of factors in an educational setting. additionally, the introduction of an online (distance) learning model with its recent enhancement has had a bearing on it. the outcomes of the present study indicate a relationship between student learning satisfaction with an online environment and certain types of intelligence, namely interpersonal, naturalistic and visual-spatial. this may stem from students' characteristics, learning styles as well as the needs each type represents. Moreover, it was revealed that student online learning satisfaction decreases with the length of studies and the results which students achieve. it was also discovered that there was an equal distribution of all intelligence types amongst both men and women whose online learning satisfaction was examined. the online model of learning can satisfy students' academic expectations in the time when they cannot be satisfied otherwise. the outcomes also imply that with the recent development of education, a hybrid and flexible model might be welcome in the years to come.

Moreover, the study intends to get an insight into the impact the attitudes of the participants of the instruction process have on the process of the platform construction. The case study design was used to see if users of an online learning platform could contribute to defining its functionalities in the areas of creating and sharing classes remotely, conducting tests, tests and exams and advanced reporting of student activity. Moreover, the author wished to learn if different platform users would put forward similar platform functionalities. It was discovered that the parties involved in the platform construction processes may, first of all, have a lot to offer in terms of the platform functionalities and should therefore be involved in the platform construction process. Second of all, although their contributions as far as the functionalities of the platform are concerned may have a lot in common, there are certain aspects of the platform which only people involved in seemingly narrow areas can come up with.

Moreover, the study attempts to establish what modifications to the existing study programmes should be introduced in order to cater for both students' and customers' needs. The group included twenty three 3 rd students of English in Business and Multimedia specialisation with some introductory translation experience. The implementation and delivery of the instructional content occurred during regular translation and computer assisted translation classes. The study used action research design and lasted from January until May. Results of the action research indicate that undergraduate English studies students lack certain skills and competences as far as technological skills and service provision are concerned. This may be improved by introducing new courses or modifying the existing ones. These encompass specialist language courses, grammar and style, start-up business courses, quality control and work placement programmes. The conclusions drawn from the action research suggest that augmenting the present programme of studies with the new content may develop the students' translation competence and, therefore, help them to stand out in job market.

Furthermore, it intends to compare and contrast the existing programme of translation studies with the available models and propose an instruction framework which takes into consideration both the students' and customers' needs as well as the changing online market conditions. The studied group included twenty three final year undergraduate students of the translation programme who were researched during regular specialist translation classes augmented with the content published online. The studies curriculum did not follow any recognised model of instruction, however, it drew on some elements of various widely acknowledged models of translation competence. Research in action design was applied to engage students in a simulation of a virtual translation office as well as to observe, reflect, investigate and share classroom translation practice. The outcomes of the research may indicate that the present model of studies programme does not manage to equip students with the set of appropriate skills and competences. This may be improved with the implementation of the proposed model of instruction. The model is based on the restructured and reorganised studies programme augmented with some supplementary content.

learning e... more The aim of this paper is to provide an insight into the development of online language learning environment as well as suggest a model for implementing online tools in everyday teaching practice. The traditional foreign language classroom may be thought of as a place to learn a language whereas an online virtual foreign language classroom can be considered a platform where a language is acquired and practised. The link of the two is obvious with the distance between them becoming gradually shorter, along with the advance of computer technologies and introduction of new applications. In spite of frequent obstacles which online or virtual learning must overcome, and despite the still successfully functioning traditional language classroom, the move towards virtual environments has already taken place. Virtuality, however, should never be a replacement of reality. It may just constitute an extension to what already happens in a classroom. The unlimited choice of online teaching resources and students' dependence on Internet-based mobile tools have led to a point where language teachers are not supposed to answer the question if or how but most importantly when to use online resources inside and outside the classroom. The division between the available resources into the traditional printed on the one hand and the electronic ones on the other asks a question of how to merge what we have in schools with what students already massively use outside. Instruction designs which would close the digital divide and help teachers extend learning beyond the traditional classroom boundaries are in their infancy. Much effort has been made, largely based on worthy initiatives and good practices, to work out and share the best possible solution together with a method of its implementation.

To date, we have witnessed an abundance of instructional models used in foreign language learning. A recent addition is the virtual environment which has become an important extension of the traditional classroom; however, models which would assist a smooth implementation of a virtual model are scarce and complex. The article proposes a virtual instruction model which may close the digital divide and help teachers extend learning beyond the traditional classroom boundaries. The model also offers the key Information Technologies (IT) considerations which may be crucial while carrying the model into effect.

Moreover, the study attempts to determine if an instructional model may support such an implementation. The study group included full-time Customer Care consultants with the national and foreign retail sale experience whose efficacy of dealing with customers in English has an impact on the company's performance and expansion. The study was based on the mixed method design and followed an instructional model which was composed of seven, different stages. The implementation and delivery of the instructional content was founded on an online learning environment, Canvas which allows its users to access online content on hand-held devices. The study may indicate that after a period of working with online content, the learners have developed their English language writing and speaking competence related to the wok of the Customer Care Department as well as their general command of English. The conclusions drawn from the study may suggest that augmenting a traditional foreign language learning environment with online materials, which learners access remotely, outside a classroom, may help them improve their English and, therefore, benefit the environment they are engaged in.

Metacommunication is typically initiated for the purpose of clarification and/or repair of a message in case of communication failure. In pre-school, a recent study has found that discussions between teachers and pupils about the supervision process have a positive impact on children’s development and improve the level of understanding, especially in the case of message ambiguity. Despite this, we know little about specific metacommunicative mechanisms that may be significant in the communication between teachers and pre-schoolers. One reason is that most definitions of the metacommunication concept are inconsistent. The goal of this paper is therefore to review a broad range of research literature regarding metacommunication in teacher-pupil interaction and mentoring . These perspectives are then used to discuss how metacommunication can optimize social and learning skills. Suggestions are made for further research on metacommunication development and the conditions which will support its emergence.
