Despite rel- atively few previous reports, our new data indicate that Willets are regularly present in low numbers in the region. Both Eastern (T. s. semipalmata) and Western (T. s. inornata) Willet subspecies were recorded in our study area. We extended the Western Willet's known wintering range southward reporting new records from Buenos Aires province in Argentina, Maldonado and Montevideo departments in Uruguay, and Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul states in Brazil. We confirmed the presence of Eastern Willet for the first time in Uruguay and added new reports for Argentina and Brazil. Finally, we provided the first records of over-summering Western and Eastern Willets remaining in southeastern South America dur-

To organize such a compilation, we searched the literature and a number of different sources for all documented records of birds from Ubatuba, Sao Paulo State. We further carried out a 6-year non-systematic bird inventory in different regions and elevations to document the species within the municipality. The total number of documented bird species is 398, 11% of which are endemic to Brazil. Another 27% are Atlantic Forest endemics and as many as 56 species are under threat categories, including near-threatened birds, in the state. Some 53 species are reported from the municipality but still lack documentation. Considering historical records, no species have extinguished from the municipality. Ubatuba is one of the most studied regions along Serra do Mar in Sao Paulo regarding its ornithology, but there are still high-eleva...

We present our observations made in a small population in Ubatuba on the north coast of the state of São Paulo, Brazil during January and February 2011. We report 96 hours of field observations describing details of morphology and behaviour concerning; the methods and source of feeding, locomotion through the canopy, resting behaviour and interaction between individuals and other species. We discuss types of vocalisation and their context.

To organize such a compilation, we searched the literature and a number of different sources for all documented records of birds from Ubatuba, state of São Paulo. We further carried out a 7-year non-systematic bird inventory in different regions and elevations to document the species within the municipality. The total number of documented bird species is 412, 11% of which are endemic to Brazil. Another 26% are Atlantic Forest endemics and as many as 56 species are under threat categories, including near-threatened birds, in the state. Some 45 species of 25 families are reported from the municipality but still lack documentation. Considering historical records, no species have extinguished from the municipality. Ubatuba is one of the most studied regions along Serra do Mar in São Paulo regarding its ornithology, but there are still high-elevational gaps that will yield significant additions of species to the area with increasing surveying efforts.
