This article reports the results of a study carried out at a public high school in Colombia whose... more This article reports the results of a study carried out at a public high school in Colombia whose objective was to design and determine how a reading comprehension module contributed to strengthening English literacy competence in sixth graders. The methodological framework entailed a basic outline of the action-research cycle. The qualitative data analysis was designed descriptively, focusing on three research moments corresponding to each cycle's stages. The results show that the implementation of the material had a significant impact on the development of literacy competence, which suggests the material could be a tool for supporting English language learning.
