Introduction : Co-dependency not only is the most prevalent addiction but only becomes the “basis” of what all the other addictions and Obsessions results from it. There is not a good management for it so far. Aim: the aim of the present research is to study the effectiveness of therapy based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on reducing co-dependency ofthe mothers of addictedindividuals. Material &Method : the present research is semi-experimental research with pre-test and post-test together with control group. The research population includes 48 of the co-dependent mothers of the addicted individuals in Tehran which have been selected with the use of availability sampling method. Then with Random assignment half of them (24) have been allocated to experimental group and the other half (24) have been allocated to the control group. Research instrument: co-dependent questionnaire (CODI). For data analysis covariance test has been used. Results: the results indicate that th...

Introduction: The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral based stress management training on depression of MS female patients. Materials & methods: this study employed a quasi-experimental research method with pre-test posttest, control group and random assignment. The statistical population consists of all female MS patients referring to Iran MS association in 2013. 24 individuals are selected by available sampling among them and were divided into intervention and control group randomly. For measuring independent variable beck’s depression inventory were used. Findings: The results of analysis of ANCOVA showed that cognitivebehavioral based stress management training has been effective on depression reduction of MS female patients (depression: P<0/01). Discussion & Conclusion: According to obtained results we believe that cognitivebehavioral based stress management training program has been effective on depression reduction of MS female patients. Thus this training method can be used for target groups and general population as an interventional program.

Background: Suicide is one of the biggest concerns of the World Health Organization. Every year, around 703,000 people end their lives. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to provide a phenomenological study of suicide attempts in men dealing with substance use. Methods: This is a qualitative study with a hermeneutic phenomenological approach. The participants of this study were 12 men who had a history of substance use and suicide attempts. The participants were chosen through an objective sampling method to participate in semi-structured interviews. The collected data were analyzed by the seven-stage Diekelmann et al. (1989) analysis method. Results: The participants' experiences were analyzed on two separate themes. The first theme was "inefficient personality traits," having the two sub-themes of "impulsive behavior" and "emotional instability." The second theme was "the stigma related to addiction." Background: Suicide is considered a fundamental problem in discussions on public and global health. Thus, the current study aimed to review the prevalence of and reasons for successful suicide attempts in heroin users. Methods: This study was conducted by systematically searching the electronic databases of PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and PsycINFO from 1960/1/1 to 2021/11/1 based on the PRISMA checklist and using MeSH keywords with no temporal or linguistic limitations. The primary and secondary impacts of suicide were identified, and all studies following an observational design (cohort, case-control, and cross-sectional studies) were included in the research. Data analysis was performed using Stata version 13. Finally, 17 studies were included in the work process for systematic review and meta-analysis. Findings: The results showed the most frequent reasons for suicide among the studied individuals were gender (being female), youngness, heroin overdose, multi-drug abuse, histo...

Reality therapy is a particular approach in adolescent development and independence that repeatedly emphasized on the disagreeable relationships and self-control to encourage personal growth. Unfortunately, we could not find any study in the context of effectiveness of training reality therapy concepts on parent-child conflicts and self-efficacy. Therefore, this study were done with the purpose of considering the effectiveness of training reality therapy concepts on parent-child conflict father-son and self-esteem in adolescents in Ilam province. Materials and methods: This study was a semi-experimental research which its statistical community consisted of all first and second grade students of Motahari and Shahriari high schools in Ilam province during 2014-2015. Nearly, 30 students were selected by a random sampling method, and assigned into intervention and control groups. To appraise dependent variable, the Murray Strauss Parent-child conflict (father-son version) questionnaire ...

Background: One of the most important cognitive distortions is deterministic thinking. Deterministic thinking is a kind of distortion that conclusively considers an event equal to something else. Deterministic thinking is about absoluteness and ignorance probability in incidents and their inferences. Objective: This study was designed to examine the relationship between Deterministic thinking and Locus of control in students. In this correlation study, 100 students from university of social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences in Tehran were selected through purposeful sampling and then answered to Deterministic Thinking questioner, and Locus of control scale. Results Using Pearson correlation analysis, the results demonstrated that there is no significant relationship between deterministic thinking and locus of control. But it was found that there is significant relationship between subscales of Interaction with others, Absolute thinking, Prediction of future, and Locus of control [...

Objectives: This present study aims to examine the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral-based stress management training on anxiety in female MS patients. Methods: This study employed a semi-experimental research method with pre-test post-test, control group and random assignment. The statistical population fully consisted of female MS patients referred to the Iran MS association in 2014, from which 24 individuals were selected by accessible sampling, who were randomly divided into intervention and control groups. For measuring the independent variable, Beck’s Anxiety inventories were used. Results: The results of ANCOVA showed that cognitive-behavioral-based stress management training was effective in reducing the anxiety of female MS patients (p≤ 0.05). Discussion: According to the results obtained, we believe that the cognitive-behavioral-based stress management training program has been effective on anxiety reduction in female MS patients. Thus, this training method can be used...
