Resumo: Após a incorporação do conceito Brundtland de desenvolvimento sustentável pela sociedade ... more Resumo: Após a incorporação do conceito Brundtland de desenvolvimento sustentável pela sociedade durante a Rio 92, o desafio a partir de então passou a ser como colocá-lo em prática no contexto das 179 nações signatárias e, no caso das edificações, uma das principais fontes emissoras de gases do efeito estufa, a obtenção de requisitos claros para sua aplicação. O presente trabalho, que tem por objetivo avaliar as possibilidades de ganhos ao se adotar a etiquetagem de eficiência energética em edificações e respectivos indicadores como recurso complementar à gestão de ativos, destaca o papel do governo brasileiro ao estabelecer a Lei nº 10.295/2001, conhecida como Lei da Eficiência Energética, que instituiu as bases necessárias para a etiquetagem de edificações, ampliando o Programa Brasileiro de Etiquetagem que até então abrangia somente máquinas e equipamentos. Apresenta, ainda, a importância da otimização de custos que desempenha o consumo de energia elétrica na operação da edificação, em especial nos sistemas de condicionamento de ar e iluminação, explicitando a forma pela qual é possível agregar valor econômico e qualidade de vida aos ocupantes ao se aliar à concepção de arquitetura bioclimática. Como resultado, tem-se uma análise global da aplicação da etiquetagem PBE Edifica em edificações pertencentes a organizações que possuem muitos prédios, como a PETROBRAS, por meio de uma Matriz SWOT ou FFOA (Forças, Fraquezas, Oportunidades e Ameaças), onde se pode concluir que o aumento da confiabilidade em gestão e a redução de custos de ativos tornam-se possíveis quando abrigam edificações sustentáveis e monitoradas por indicadores de eficiência energética.
