Menguji kinerja alat meliputi suhu, kelembaban udara, kadar air dan laju pengeringan terhadap air. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode percobaan untuk peembuatan alat dan analisa data menggunakan metode deskriptif yaitu data dari pengamatan disusun dalam bentuk tabel, kemudian digambarkan dalam bentuk grafik, lalu dideskripsikan. Setiap rak yaitu rak atas dan rak bawah masing-masing menggunakan 500 sampel biji pala. Setiap percobaan dilakukan 2 (dua) kali ulangan. Variabel yang diamati adalah suhu, kelembaban udara, kadar air bahan dan laju pengeringan. Hasil dari penelitian ini modifikasi alat pengering tipe rak Model Teta’17 dengan cara menambahkan cerobong tidak menunjukan adanya kondensasi pada bagian permukaan dinding alat. The results of research on drying corn using a small-scale dome-type dryer The average air temperature on the first day of the experiment was 43.7⁰C, and on the second day was 42.8⁰C. Vertical farming is becoming the focus of attention as an innovative solution to the challenge of... more Vertical farming is becoming the focus of attention as an innovative solution to the challenge of global food security. Urbanization and rapid population growth give rise to the need for efficient agricultural approaches to land use. This research aims to investigate the potential and impact of vertical farming on global food security through a descriptive qualitative approach. The data used in the research comes from various relevant previous research and studies. This research method involves the process of collecting data from scientific literature and previous studies, which are then processed by researchers to produce relevant findings. Through descriptive qualitative analysis, this research highlights the contribution of land use efficiency, adaptation to urban environments, and integration of advanced technologies in the context of vertical farming. The results of this research then found that vertical farming is not only an alternative but also a significant step forward in the transformation of the global agricultural sector. Supportive agricultural regulations and policies, as well as adapting technology to the local environment, are critical challenges in implementing vertical farming. However, opportunities for developing innovations in vertical farming system design and active stakeholder involvement provide a strong foundation for the growth of this industry. This research highlights that vertical farming has great potential to have a positive impact on global food security, by understanding and overcoming existing challenges.

ABSTRACTThis research is aimed to study the pyrolysis and distillation processes of making liquid... more ABSTRACTThis research is aimed to study the pyrolysis and distillation processes of making liquid smoke from coconut shell related to the influence of time and number of raw materials to improve the efficiency of pyrolysis and distillation equipment. This study used an experimental method where the temperature in tube was set at 90° C and after 45 minutes it was maintained at 90° C and then lowered to 75° C. The observation period of the pyrolysis process was carried out every 30 minutes for 8 hours with 3 repetitions, while the distillation process was carried out every 45 minutes with 4 repetitions. The results of the pyrolysis process showed that the steam temperature and pyrolysis time had a relationship to the volume, yield, density and color of the liquid smoke. The average of temperature is 109.58°C gives average result of 6315 ml in volume, yield 21.60%, density 1.027 g/ml and the color is thick black. The productivity of chili plants has decreased due to the excessive use of inorganic fertilizers. Fertilization using liquid organic fertilizer from cow dung is one effort to minimize the use of inorganic fertilizers. This study aims to examine the application of POC nutrition from cow dung in a wick hydroponic fertigation system for the development of chili plants. Observations were made to determine the water needs of plants (evapotranspiration) and the development of hydroponic chili plants with different concentrations of nutrients from liquid organic fertilizer from cow dung. Optimal treatment of giving nutrient concentrations of cow dung liquid organic fertilizer to plant water needs or evapotranspiration and development of chili plants is found at a concentration of 1,000 ppm (P3).

This study aims to analyze the technological and economic feasibility (techno-economy) of the development of the coconut husk industrial system as an effort to provide stakeholder considerations in increasing the value and income of coconut farmers in North Sulawesi. This research was conducted for three months with survey locations in 2 (two) coconut producing areas in North Sulawesi Province, namely South Minahasa Regency and Bitung City.
