Eine „Globalisierung des Geschmacks” bedeutet jedoch mehr als nur die Verwendung der gleichen Aromen. Denn genau das funktioniert in den meisten Fallen nicht — noch nicht.

Udo Pollmer, Georg Keckl und Klaus Alfs misstrauen der schonen neuen Veggie-Welt, verbirgt sich ihrer Ansicht nach doch hinter dem gut Gemeinten oft wenig Gutes. Sie bezweifeln, dass es moralisch besser ist, kein Fleisch zu essen, und fragen sich, warum so viele vegetarisch Lebende aggressiv auf kritische Nachfragen reagieren. Und sie widerlegen die Behauptung, dass es der Erde besser ginge, wenn wir alle Veganer waren. Die Autoren behaupten vielmehr: "Denkt man den Veganismus konsequent zu Ende, bedeutete seine Universalisierung das Ende unserer bisherigen Zivilisation." Starker Tobak – den die Autoren mit starken Argumenten "wurzen". Ihr Anliegen ist ein genuin aufklarerisches: Sie kampfen fur Toleranz und eine ehrliche Auseinandersetzung mit den Fakten und gegen moralische Keulen. "Veggie-Diktatur" – nein, danke!
