Vibeke Mascini
Vibeke Mascini (NL, 1989) is a writer and visual artist researching cases in which cultural systems falter and regularities shake. Looking into elements within the history of science, landscape and language Mascini considers formal agreements that are made tangible through object or definition. Her work consists of propositions and interventions within such binary systems that explore and hack their structures and results using contemporary technology and infrastructures. Currently she is an Artist-in-Residence at the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave in Leiden, NL. Recent collaborators include Naturalis Biodiversity Center. Leiden, NL; Kulturhistorisches Musem Görlitz, DE; Teylers Museum. Haarlem, NL and Musée Alpin Chamonix, FR. Mascini has lectured at Wageningen University & Research and the Academy for Architecture and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, NL amongst others. She published two artist’s books: 'The Dent of Walter Umenhofer' (2015) and 'Cloud Inverse' (2017).
