Interactive technologies are considered important tools to help teach different areas of knowledge. However, in Physical Education their use is still a challenge and there is a lack of studies that investigate the perception of those involved in this process and their ways of use. This Teachers’ and students’ perceptions of the use of interactive technologies in physical education classes study is cross-sectional, quantitative and aimed to verify the perception of teachers and students on the use of interactive technologies in Physical Education classes in three schools in the Metropolitan Region of Recife. Six teachers and seventy-one students were evaluated through the questionnaire adapted from Russell (2007), which measures aspects related to interactive technologies in teaching. A total of 61.9% of the students and 33.3% of the teachers considered that interactive technologies can promote effective teaching and learning. When questioned about the use of technologies in Physical Education classes, only 17% of the students stated that they were used regularly, while 83.3% of the teachers agreed with this. In conclusion, interactive technologies can help teaching if the process occurs according to a plan and with the preparation of teachers to mediate knowledge, contributing to student learning.

The large number of explicit tasks, generally placed on a centralized job queue, can cause several problems: (1) they can quickly exhaust the memory of the submission machine; (2) they can deteriorate the response time of the submission machine due to these demanding too many open ports to manage remote execution of each of the tasks; (3) they may cause network traffic congestion if all tasks try to transfer input and/or output files across the network at the same time; (4) they make it impossible for the user to follow execution progress without an automatic tool or interface; (5) they may depend on fault-tolerance mechanisms implemented at application level to ensure that all tasks terminate successfully. In this work we present and validate a novel architectural model, GRAND (Grid R...

Science discusses the results on the effects of physical activity on increasing adiponectin levels, especially in child with obesity. The scope of the present study was to evaluate a physical exercise intervention program, after 10 months of duration, in the plasma concentration of adiponectin in students from six to nine years of age with overweight and obesity. This is a randomized clinical study of a near-experimental intervention of the type before and after. The physical exercise resulted in a significant reduction in the percentage of body fat (%BF) and triglycerides. Adiponectin there was a non-significant increase. The present study showed that the practice of physical exercise did not increase adiponectin levels, but was responsible for a great improvement in the children lipid profile and reduction in %BF.

Participants were 276 Brazilian members of fitness centers (168 males and 108 females) with ages between 17 and 39 years (m age = 23.93, sd = 5.17). After body mass (BM), body mass index (BMI) and body fat (% BF) were measured, participants indicated their current (cs) and ideal (Is) silhouettes, allowing the calculation of body dissatisfaction as the difference between Is and cs. BMI and % BF were grouped by body dissatisfaction category and analyzed using one-way and repeated measures ANoVA. results revealed that only 1.2 % of men and 6.5 % of women considered themselves satisfied with their body. comparisons of global ratings of their cs and Is revealed that male and female individuals reported that their current bodies were significantly less muscular than their ideal bodies (p < .001), although the degree of dissatisfaction revealed no s...

Rabelo & Araújo (2001) suggested that the use of the Reciprocal of Ponderal Index (RIP) would be more appropriated. The objective of this study was to compare the identifi cation of overweight by for ponderal indices and estimated body fat (F%). The study enrolled 89 male subjects (21.9 ± 2.3 years, 177.7 ± 7.2 cm, 69.5 ± 5.9 kg, 8.0 ± 0.2 F% and 22.0 ± 1.8 kg/m2 BMI and 43.3 ± 1.63 m/ kg1/3 RIP) and 70 female subjects (21.4 ± 4.7 years, 162.3 ± 5.4 cm, 54.9 ± 6.4 kg, 22.9 ± 4.5 F% and 20.8 ± 2.1 kg/m2 BMI and 41.3 ± 4,1 m/kg1/3 RIP). F% was estimated by Jackson and Pollock (1978) and Jackson et al. (1980) equations. Both ponderal indices exhibited similar results. Correlation coeffi cients for males were 0.60 for BMI and 0.57 for RIP in relation to F%. Correlations for females were 0.63 and 0.66, respectively.
